Trading C43 for an E53?

Has anyone traded or contemplating trading their C43 for an E53?

Our 2017 C43 lease is coming due this year and we are wondering what our next car should be. The E53 is enticing us....

Have you received any quotes - are you buying or leasing?

I have considered it a couple of times, because the E53 is just such a nice car. I'd make a huge loss on my C43 cos it's less than 6 months old, so I will wait a little longer. Maybe next year.

We will be leasing.
No quotes yet, just what's available locally here in Ottawa, Canada.
Lease ends in Nov. Mercedes offers a 4 month pull ahead for clients in a lease, so July/Aug time frame gives us enough time to shop and build a car to suite.

I actually have my eye on this one currently. Very tempting indeed.

I test drove a '19 E53 Coupe. It was very nice. It's a better behaved car than the 43. The acceleration of the I6 was linear and smooth and the mild hybrid system eliminates turbo lag. Lag just doesn't exist on the E53. It's a little heavier and might be slightly less agile than a C43 if you really try to toss it around.

How about the CLS 53? Have you looked into that? I personally like it more than the E. Maybe because it’s a more “edgy” design.

Nice too, but too big for me. E is quite big as it is, but the CLS is even larger (even though same platform).

The E53 Coupe was the one we were looking at. The E sedans and the CLS are just a little too long for my taste and for my tiny garage.

The E53 Coupe is a beauty. I really should have gone straight to 53 or 63 instead of settling for a 43. The price differential in my country was the main issue though. A 53 was about 40 grand more than a 43, so I was reluctant to pull the trigger.

On a separate note, my frustrations with the C43 have been somewhat quelled today after having changed my springs. The car is very well composed now and is behaving very well on the road. I will start a new thread about it soon.

I'm very interested in any suspension mods that actually improve ride quality on this platform. What spring kit did you install?
I'm kinda hoping to ride out the depreciation on the C450. If I could actually make the suspension comfortable I could really enjoy it for the next few years.

Just installed today, let me give it a few days trial and will PM you a review. Don’t want to side track this thread anyway. Await my PM.

The E53 sedan looks like it would suite us perfectly.
The C43 sedan has been a wonderful car, but the rear seat space is to cramped. The CLS 53 has great lines but it also looks like it will have cramped rear seating.

If you actually use the back seat for passengers regularly the E class sedan will suit you better.
