Thumbs up Winter shoes are on: first impressions

It's finally cold enough to change shoes, and after about 300 miles of mixed snow and dry conditions I can say I am pleasantly surprised by this combo: staggered 245/225 18" ASA GT14 with Yokohama Iceguard IG53. Noticeably better road manners than the summer RFT PZero's in the dry under normal driving conditions, and surprisingly grippy and progressive near the "limit". I have the previous generation (IG52) on my 996.2C2 and dry grip past 6/10's is an issue; it is noticeably better with the IG53's. Snow traction (3" of snow... nothing extreme) is excellent and the fixed torque split is not a constraining factor until legal limits are (far) exceeded. An added bonus is the relatively low weight of the wheels: 22.9 lbs (by comparison, the 19" AMG dual 5-spoke wheels are 31 lbs ) and the reduction in unsprung weight is noticeable in all handling modes, but particularly so in Sport+: sharper/earlier turn-in and quicker to take a set through high-speed corners. I never thought I'd prefer a budget winter set to a factory AMG summer set, but that is indeed the case... until I replace the PZero's with MPS4+

Rims look great. Looking to pickup the same for my 2019 C43. Just curious if you need to purchase anything addition for rim fitment, spacers, hubs, etc.

I am running the same rims on my C450 and you won't need anything special to make it work. Use them for my PS4s in summer and putting winters on the OEMs this year. I have been quite happy with them.

The wheels look great. Are they gunmetal? Also, why did you go staggered for the winters instead of a square setup?
