Tried to offer you some good advice what others will think and snicker. Don’t need to rub more of AMG with some blaring light on the ground at night lol. Too late now. FYI, majority of people don’t have it. Enjoy it
So you're implying that the majority of people are as ignorant as you? Sorry but I don't judge what other people do with their property. Who cares what the majority of people have? And as was mentioned before the puddle lights can be ordered as a factory option on our cars. There's nothing "ricer" about it...smh

If you base your advise on what you think or other people think and snicker, you’re entitled to that. There will always be people like you who snicker at something. There are people who snicker at the sight of a c43 too. You can even get the most expensive car in the world and people would still snicker, and even think you’re compensating for something.
Enthusiasts will always want to do something to their cars to make it uniquely their own. Some want theirs bone stock as well. I’m sure you’re a car enthusiast too... everyone here is to some degree, and the last thing you’d want is someone raining on your parade once you start modding yours.
i just installed !
it also fit the back doors !
i just ordered another set for the back doors.
i really like it. it makes the car looks more high-end, more expensive.
I didn't like these or the illuminated star... until I had two loaners back-to-back, one with the illuminated star and one with the courtesy lights projecting just the Mercedes star. Now I actually do like both - my car is now fitted with just plain Mercedes star courtesy lights.

Point being - see it in person before deciding.
Smart man get that huge illuminated star so when it’s night time and you’re flying on the highway or coming home and the pigs out, your car can smile and say hi it’s me I’m here now come pull me over. I haven’t met literally one person in their right mind that has purchased that option lmfao and when included they told dealership to snip the fuse wire lol. At least these puddle lights are hidden while driving.

I have seen many, many on this forum opt for the star or retrofit it. All seem to have their wits about them. I'm not sure what point you're even trying to make, but you should troll elsewhere.

My main concern with the "knockoff" version of these lights would be the lack of a heatsink, which I believe is a part of the OEM unit (and among other reasons, part of the high price of the of the OEM unit). Granted, unless your doors are open for significant amounts of time LED heat build-up likely won't be an issue, but high-intensity LEDs can generate a fair amount of heat and under the right circumstances I could see the potential of these melting their plastic housings or worse.
That said, being a fortunate new MB owner I'd be fully down to cross that line the AM (AnteMerc) part of my brain still considers crass and ostentatious and install a set of these in a heartbeat, then just sit back and watch from a mental distance as the PM ("PostMerc" if the joke hadn't landed yet... ) and AM parts of my brain argue among themselves about whether or not I've become the guy in my old age that my younger self admittedly held in pretty high contempt. I've never really been a "if you've got it, flaunt it" kind of guy, but I've also never owned an AMG before, so even I have no clue where that debate may end up. Could be interesting...
Yes, I've been sheltering in place for way too long and yes, I probably drink way too much coffee...

These puddle lights are offered by the dealer, and they're functional. If something drops on the ground when you get out, or if there actually is a puddle or something nasty on the ground when you're getting out, you can see it. Form and function, I don't see anything wrong with that.

True rather be hidden in the night, not be exposed like some big flashlight blaring so everyone stares like wow what’s that and omg lights camera action opening door. Have to say if I had to pick one. I would take these over that Mercedes emblem lit up at night on the grill lmao
I'm not a big fan of the star either. It seems a little too elitist to me.
haha at least someone on my side. Too funny at the dealership they even said most people find it tacky and either tell service to cut the wire or when car arrives at the port to remove that option before it comes to dealer for delivery. I don’t even know who in there right mind would have this huge blaring star at night while you have a roaring PC exhaust screaming down the highway

i like the door emblem lights btw. I don’t have them but they look good.
it’s your car and you pay for it -
do as you wish
