2018 C43
Replace run flat tires
I have 2018 C43 with OEM 19" wheels. It comes with Pirelli run flats in front 225 /40 R19 and rear is 255 /35 R19. I already had a blowout on RF tire after hitting a pothole on freeway. My complaint with this car is ride is too stiff. It has the performance seats too. I'm thinking of getting regular tires such as the Pirellie CINTURATO STRADA SPORT AS or Michelin - Pilot Sport A/S 3+. I want to get the most comfortable tires. Can I go with a thicker sidewall such as front 225 /45 and rear 255 /40 without modification? The tires will increase diameter from 26.1" to 27" and sidewall from 3.5" to 4". What is the maximum that I can go without any modification such as front 235 /45? I don't want it to rub against any parts and effect the handling too much. Thanks.

Once you put regular tires on there you will notice a big difference. Most people on this board can attest to that. I have Michelin PS4S, they’re the best all around for our car in my opinion.

For anyone reading this that has a C43 or is considering buying one..your very first upgrade/mod/purchase should be new tires, along with a jack and a tire repair kit. Also not a bad investment to get an extra wheel so you have a spare.
Forget about the intake, tune, pipes, spoiler, painting your calipers.......get rid of the damn run flats. Your first stop after the dealership should be to a tire shop.
Even if you have 100% of the tread left on your RFs just ditch them. Your car will ride so much better, just listen to literally everyone on this site. I mean you are cheating yourself to drive a MBZ AMG with those conti run flats. Your comfort mode will be a lot closer to actually being comfortable and your handling will improve exponentially.

I also replaced the Pirelli RF tires with Michelin PS4S on my wife's 2020 C43.
Great tire, well suited to the car!

However...just wait until you get new tires. You can come back to this thread and bump it and tell me how I was right.

Totally agreed. I have been incrementally wearing the run flats down with use of the right foot. That said, I do not know I have ever been more excited to spend money on new tires.

I couldn't wait to get rid of them. I bought non-run-flats after about 500 miles. I sold my run-flats on Craigslist. Of course, my run-flats came with the car, and I can appreciate not wanting to throw away the money. I certainly didn't get what they were worth on the sale, but I recouped some and that was enough for me. You guys are in for a treat when you get rid of those things!

2019 AMG C43
I got the Michelin Pilot Sport AS3+ and they are great for my 2019 C43! Needed the all seasons as I live in Memphis. On occasion we get a little snow/ice.
Not much, but a handful of days you need the all seasons.

I got the Vredestein Quatrac Pros — a great option if 3PMSF is important to you (it was to me), given the performance they have (superior to the OEM Contis). Otherwise, I gather the PS AS3+ are the best all season for this car (when 3PMSF/increased snow traction are not necessary).
