Has anyone on here had the secondary cats cut off on a stock exhaust c43? Does it even have 4 cats like the V8's? I did this to my GT's and love it for the low cost awesome sound. Hoping I can do the same to the c43. Thanks for any help.

It does not have 4 but just the 2 (one on each side) in the downpipes. Plenty of people have removed them and it can provide a performance boost, but, IMO does not sound that good on a 6 Cyl. It'll also cause a CEL without a tune.

Thats not encouraging. I won't do it if its going to throw codes. Its my wife's car so no need for a full tune and hp gain. I just wanted a little more sound without the 2000 exhaust system

I used those on my kids mustang. V6 with headers no cats and straight piped. Under most driving they work as advertised. But if you drove it really hard you could still get a light. Battery cable off then back on and no code.

Are you saying the muffler in the middle of the car or the actual resonators in the back? I think the resonators in the back are where the exhaust valves are also. I don't want to loose the option to shut her up if a cop is behind me.

The P.E. is loud from the outside, it sounds quiet in the inside. I've had AM exhausts on all my cars, but this may be the first car to not **** with the AMG P.E. I did get the ASR flap module, and the flaps are open 100% of the time even at low rpms.
Even if you put in sport+, the flaps do not open 100% until you reach a certain RPM and WOT.
It made a huge difference in low rpm, low throttle with the flap module in my car.
