how to keep brake dust off

Is there anything to apply over the wheel that might help keep the brake dust off?

Try ceramic coating the wheels or change your brake pads.

You can buy spray on ceramic coating, which is a lot cheaper ($8-$12) and is better for this application since there is no point spending that kind of money on wheels where they will get dirty no matter what. A good spray on wax will help too. These things wont keep brake dust off completely but it will help brake dust from building up further and make it a lot easier to just wipe off.

My wheels are ceramic coated but the pads create so much dust. I'm almost due for change so I'm switching to EBC Reds...

My wheels are powder coated, and then I applied a ceramic coating. Using stock pads, even these two steps do not seem to really help. I am OCD about keeping my car clean, and as such, I have taken to clean the wheels at least twice a week. I view it as an unavoidable consequence at this point.

Sure, go with "EBC" ceramic Redstuff, more reliable/no dust/no regret..
