2021 C43 or wait for 2022 C53?

Thanks for the replies.
So the interior isn’t going to be like current generation CLA’s with the dual screens? Man that full tablet thing is fugly.
Someone mentioned that they got a good deal off of a C43 of 10%. Are you in the states or Europe? If I wanted to build a C43, do you think such a deep discount would still be given? I was assuming that I couldn’t get more than 1K off a C43 if I was ordering it.

Just picked up my 2020 C43 Coupe and loved it. I do intend to keep this vehicle for 6 to 8 years and the 2020 being a late cycle model would hopefully be more reliable than the early year model. Not to mention the discount you get on 2020 or 2021 would be way more than the new model.
Why wait when you can enjoy it now and trade it in 5 or 6 years down the road for the new model when most of the kinks have been resolved.

I was wanting a C43, and decided I would wait until 2021. So I finally started to look into it as orders are almost being accepted for them, and I came across a few links that say the 2021 C43 is going to be the last model of the car, and there will be a 2022 C53 instead. Assuming this is true, does anyone have any thought as to when MB will officially announce such a model? Lastly, what should I do? Should I wait the extra year for the C53 (I assume it wouldn't be available until Feb/March of 2022).

You're probably better off waiting for the 2022 c53 or buying a 2020 c43. The 2021 is extremely over priced. This is because you're forced an option (its mandatory) that wasnt the case in the 2020s. This increases the price by about 8-10k CAD. If you bought the 2020, you can have the exact SAME vehicle with the trims and options for less. Saving the 8-10k. My sales guys showed me the spec sheet for a similar spec for 2021. Even he said it wasnt worth it. The 2022 c53 however is a děfferent beast. Complete style and rech overhaul and I think 416hp and similar torque from the factory. Also you'd have the updated interior similar to s class with the big screen. I'm actually thinking of selling my 2020 c43 wagon....only 7000km.

I say wait because when the new one comes out the current model should have more incentives. Plus you can decide if you want the newer model or the current one then. Unless.... the enthusiasts drive up the price of the current model...

Yes apparently that was confirmed, although rumours say they will come up something called a CLE in 2023. It will be an interesting vehicle in Mercedes' portfolio. Given it is a mix between a C-class and E-class it will be interesting if it is a four-banger. Perhaps I am thinking that coupe buyers are enthusiasts therefore would be looking at 6-cylinders and above, fingers-crossed that happens.
Edit: Basically CLE is the replacement of C-class coupe and convertible. and possibly the next gen E-class coupe and convertible

I'd be interested to hear what OP did in the end.
I was in a similar position although was considering other manufacturers as well. I was pretty sure that I wanted the V6 and not some crappy sounding 4 cyl but the one that did it for me in the end was the expectation that the new C Class will START from around Ł38,000 (so that's C200, not C43). That will probably put the new C43 right up in the Ł57-60,000 range in the UK.
Throw in the fact that I managed to get a 19% discount on list based on the old C43 pricing and I think we know what he best choice was.

I agree the regular C looks boring, but that C63 looks BADASS! If you threw some black AMG 20''s on it and tinted the windows and possibly lower it, although I think lowering a car is stupid with these cars as they already ride rougher than a corvette does and chew your tires up, it actually might look good on this car. Most lowering has that cheesy "fast and furious" look LOL. If you add some 20's to your car, you can fill the wheel wells and retain your handling and save the tires. Im waiting for this bad boy to come out and buy one for me and my girlfriend. Thanks for the post!! I hadnt seen this car yet.

This is of course all going off of estimates for what they are expecting the new C Class to be priced at.

Very true, MSRP in Canada is much lower after foreign exchange but we don't nearly get the same discount. Our options are usually bundled and more expensive. I guess it works out to be similar in the end.

It might not be as big an increase as what people are guessing but I know a lot of other cars have shot up from their last model year to current one. The new Golf GTI and Golf R for example have gone up 12% and 16%.

i actually think the 2017 or 2018 c43 looks the best. The headlights look more aggressive than the 2020 model and the taillights definitely scream amg more. Any chance cpo 2017-18 c43s go even more down in price after the 2022 model arrives ?

CPO is usually limited to vehicles three years old or newer. Doubt you will find an MB CPO 2017-2018 c43.

Remaining inventory is dependent on the country and province/state I guess. Here in Canada, we still have those flowing around so that's good for those who are looking for one.
