2021 C43 or wait for 2022 C53?

2021 C43 or wait for 2022 C53?
I was wanting a C43, and decided I would wait until 2021. So I finally started to look into it as orders are almost being accepted for them, and I came across a few links that say the 2021 C43 is going to be the last model of the car, and there will be a 2022 C53 instead. Assuming this is true, does anyone have any thought as to when MB will officially announce such a model? Lastly, what should I do? Should I wait the extra year for the C53 (I assume it wouldn't be available until Feb/March of 2022).

I don't know of any facts on the release of the C53 but I see this as an opportunity to get a fairly discounted C43 in its last model year (less bugs and issues) versus a brand new, 1st generation C53 that will probably have a ton of bugs and issues. I've also heard rumors of a hybrid powerplant, which may result in a performance bump but possibly less raw in terms of V6 engine and a more muted exhaust and engine note.

Next generation C-AMG's will have 4 banger hybrid (electric turbo?) engines that will produce more hp/tq but engine note will suffer, and they will be pushing that 4 cyl engine. I would assume they'll need to artificially make the exhaust note better with some sort of speakers in the cabin and possibly a speaker to the outside so it doesn't sound like a lawnmower.
I also don't care for the new design of the C, looks much more tame. The rear looks ok.
It doesn't really excite me.
Here is a rendering of a C63 that I think is pretty good guess:
Yes the car is at its last cycle, and having a new body style is always cool. Like other posters said, the consumer is the Beta tester and you will need to be ok with taking it in to the dealer for bugs and gremlins, but I'm sure they'll treat you right to get a good feed back. The C class is very important to Merc.
I think it looks very boring. The W205 is gorgeous imo, and a big reason I came from Audi's.

I actually bought a 2020 which turned into a 2021 because of the shutdown. Just got built last week. I decided to stick with the current generation for a few reasons. I don't like the trend of going to touchscreen without buttons which is what the new model will likely get. I wanted a reliable car and am hoping this last year will be quite reliable. The new car will likely have a ton of issues and recalls in the first few years. I love the way the current generation interior looks. Finally I feel like I got a pretty good discount of 10% on my order.

Thanks for the replies.
So the interior isn’t going to be like current generation CLA’s with the dual screens? Man that full tablet thing is fugly.
Someone mentioned that they got a good deal off of a C43 of 10%. Are you in the states or Europe? If I wanted to build a C43, do you think such a deep discount would still be given? I was assuming that I couldn’t get more than 1K off a C43 if I was ordering it.

If you are planning on leasing, I would take the current model and then move onto the next one after you are done with the 2021. This way you get to experience both and you don't have to be a beta tester. Guess you can appreciate the pros and cons of both models instead of eagerly waiting for a long time not even knowing what you are getting yourself into.

The biggest thing that I think is off putting about the 2022 isn't the cheesy exhaust note, but the fact that in 416 hp trim, the turbos are producing 30.5 lbs of boost. That's wound pretty tight and I would say doesn't allow for as much aftermarket tweaking of the boost, without consequences. Additionally, at 208 HP/liter, it's stock power levels are equivalent to a 625 hp 3 liter as in the C43. Even though the 2.0 is a closed deck design, I still wonder how much more can be reliably found without a lot of motor work and larger turbos.

FWIW, this was leaked a few weeks ago. C53 isn't on there, but the GT 53e should give you an idea. The C53e will probably be slightly detuned.

True... and now looking at that pic and taking another look at the upcoming E class... I can definitely state that c class "render" is indeed the E class I posted above and they share the same headlights.
