Failing automatic trunk close button

Has anyone experienced any issues with their automatic trunk close button? The one that is actually in the trunk in red. The odd thing is that the left one works fine, but the button to the right - which is supposed to close and lock is not working for me. Maybe once out of 20 times it might work or not?

Any ideas? Hoping I can resolve without a visit to the dealership.

I'm assuming that you have the key on you when you're pushing the "Lock" from the trunk?

I know I've had issues with it immediately after opening the trunk. Like it needs 2-3 seconds once it fully opens to recognize that the button can be used. Is this happening immediately after opening or after it has been open for more than a few seconds?

It is after it has been fully opened for awhile and I am done doing whatever I had to do. I can try pressing the close/lock button (right one) maybe 20 times and still nothing happens, if I click the left one (just close) works 100% all the time.
