The Quest For Sub 11s 1/4 mile time
Not sure, but you're likely going to need a TCU tune, and not necessarily for faster shifts (although that will help).
The car has some weird interactions between the transmission, central powertrain controller, and the engine, and ultimately it limits power based on gear and rpm's. Was the same issue with the 8 cyl cars. They were making bigger power but it wasn't necessarily translating into better times.
Ive gone 303 kmph on the car feels lovely after the tcu tune and the cpc adjustment (the new facelift have this and it limits the tcu and the speed limiter), it was costly but so worth it prior to the intercooler

I have a pfl and it does have CPC as well however it is integrated with the TCU, or something like that. Different setup than fls which I think need the CPC physically changed? PFL guys are still going to want to look at getting it tuned

The Best of Mercedes & AMG
As for results, I am still waiting for optimal conditions to run a good 1/4 pass and im testing out some different values for the meth additive on the jb4 to make sure im hitting a right target PSI.
Throughout testing however, I can't say I see so much of a difference in the 100-200 km/h range, which is where I need improvement.

Still doing some testing so will let you guys know when I get actual 1/4 mile times in. 8.2 is the time to improve for the 100-200 km/h

With WMI you should be able to backoff the E85 mix (down to 0 even) which will help if this is, in fact, an issue.
The tuner thinks its not related to TCU tune and is in fact the ECU tune mixed with my fueling. But I'm running a relatively light e25 mix. My fuel pressure drops but I can't tell if that's a cause or a symptom. All I know is since the TCU tune... the shifts aren't always "clean".
Non-break boost launches and on stock tune the car is definitely always quicker. I ran a 4.02 on stock ECU tune with the TCU tuned and I've also run a sub 4.0 nonbreak boost launch on it which is really impressive.
I've been unable to run quarter-mile times but considering when the shifts are clean there is usually NO throttle closure during shifts (as mentioned above there is throttle closure through 5th) and the car holds boost very well, they will be faster

With regards to shifting, it does depend on how I start pushing the car. When I do pulls from 30-130 mph, I sometimes experience a pretty hard jerk from 3rd to 4th gear when Im running extra boost (from jb4)
When I get a good brake boost launch in, however, my shifts are fast and smooth the whole way up, so it depends really on where the car starts building boost I guess.
The idea of the TCU limiting power output is an interesting take however, could have hit the wall pre WMI and adding it won't make a difference unless the components allow to use the extra power

going 290-300 kmph the car feels alive

It's hard to say if it's worth it. It certainly isn't cheap, and to be frank, it wasn't complete or fully tested when I got it (and I'd argue still isn't), which is rather annoying. I've had it revised once. When it works it REALLY works. It wipes off about 0.1 seconds, getting me into the 3.2's and likely the 3.1's as traction has become a big issue and my 0-10/0-20's are about 0.1 slower. This is on an aggressive ECU tune and the shifts are often not perfect, the car cuts boost and struggles to build it until the next gear. When that happens I run a 3.4-3.6. To be honest, that happens more often than everything lineing up.

Just cpc replacement and tcu tune, costed me both in total about 4k CAD, it was a lot but it made the car come alive only if it felt like this out of factory stock, installing my intercooler and wmi tommorow so lets see how much more I can really pull out of the stock turbos, for the betterment for this platform !!
(The tcu tune in action as you can see I still have two more gears left to ascend in speed kind of scary/dangerous to take a picture while going 300 kmph but If thats what it takes for you to get a tcu tune and a cpc adjustment then I gotchu il post a pic going 300 tommorow or some)

will post dyno numbers soon !
went from a trashy eurocharged tune stage 1 to a custom tune w full FBO and wmi and intercooler, **** eurocharged lmfao
mods: TCU and ECU tune, wmi kit, intercooler, fuel pump (hpfp only), intakes from bms, Catless downpipes armytrix
