Check Brake Pad Wear at 30,000km?

Today while driving I had the "Check Brake Pad Wear" message come up on my C43. I bought this car CPO in May with 21,000km, and was told brake pads must be 50% or more to pass CPO inspection. By visual inspection the outer pads seem fine, in my experience with MB the pads wear pretty even. I can't believe 50% of pad is gone in 10,000km. Can these sensors malfunction? I won't be too pleased if this car needs pads already.

The warning sensor comes on well before a change is necessary. Generally, brake pad wear depends on location and driving style and your daily commute (surface streets versus highway). That said, a big factor on premature pad wear is whether or not you drive in sport handling mode or t/c off mode.

Most likely the rear pads are worn down because of active torque vectoring.
