Key things I noticed:
1. One Man One Engine and same engine from the SL 43 (M139I)
2. 9G speedshift MCT replacing the TCT from W205 C43
3. 408 horsepower from 385 on the facelift W205 C43 and 362 on the pfl W205 C43
4. 48V mild hybrid system as expected
5. Formula 1 tech inside as expected

Looks like the standard 18 wheels are no longer staggered front and rear both 245/45 according to MBUSA.com

Pretty much what I expected, albeit a few nice surprises: 20” wheels, hand built engine and electrified.
The press release states a 0-60mph time of 4.6 seconds… Slower than the outgoing model ?? Additional weight I suppose. Looking forward to real world reviews.

wooo! about time. studio package is not nearly aggressive as it needs to be IMO
I think the 0 - 60 is just conservative like most times. Only slightly, if at all, heavier than outgoing with an upgraded transmission - so I can't imagine it actually being slower - unless gearing is just not favorable for a 0 - 60 run.

well at least the tire setup from factory is good. wont really need to do much. has race mode and launch control. cool. engine is definitely a let down per spec sheet. 4.6 0-60. i assume testing will reveal its faster. The question becomes how far can that little amg engine be pushed. looks like it is closed deck and has forged pistons. So what can those rods take and what is the turbo limit? Probably only turbo upgrade option will be to bore it out maybe depending on what electronics looks like. This car will probably be great for people that dont want to mod, but modding it may prove to be difficult. I am sure the c63 with the extra electronics will only be even more difficult to properly tune. Until i see some more testing and real world feedback I am happy with my old c43

Looks good. Will be curious to see how it drives, while its a 4-pot at least its a handbuilt one at that. Also surprised it didn't gain much weight, very similar to the outgoing model at ~3850lbs despite the hybrid tech.

Nice looking reveal. IMO the modern design language looks better on the C than the S class. As for performance, in a world of sub 4 second cars these numbers seem lackluster. Will need to wait for real world times/reviews, but for a cutting edge AMG not great.
BMW M340 is a tough competitor, unless someone prefers the Mercedes flashier interiors.

I'm sort of surprised how badly Mercedes is missing the boat when it comes to performance vs. BMW here. I doubt the new C43 will stack up well mod for mod with the M340i and that's a huge miss. Maybe they're just going for a different demo. Same with the new C63, there's just no way it will compete with the new M4 Comp mod for mod. Mercedes genuinely screwed up with emissions and this will come back to haunt them.

let's say it's 300 pounds more than a CLA 45 (it's actually more like 250). CLA 45 goes 0-60 in 4.1 seconds (US version worst case scenario). 100 pounds is worth .1s in the quarter. So, doing the most conservative and crude calculation - the slowest it could ever be 0-60 is 4.4. If I had to speculate - it should perform like a tuned c43 out of the box - maybe better.
I'm putting one on order so maybe I'm just trying to convince myself. I also have a CLA 45 on order - so I'm committed to the 4 banger either way.

in my opinion, the interiors are always a step or 2 behind in bmws, looks are subjective, but those recent grills are love it or hate it (can be deal breaker for a lot lol).
but once you drive a bmw back to back with a benz, if you are a track type person, there is no way you will pick a benz over a bmw. all comes down to what total package works for you.
i think both benz and bmw know who they are catering to and which audience they are going after. they are both definitely not going after the best track time for sure lol.

performance vs performance - in general bmws will beat a benz all day everyday. it really comes down to what matters the most to you. for example, the interior and/or design etc.

I agree with you for the most part but they're close. For instance, the M5 Comp runs a 7:54 on the Nordschleife, the E63S a 7:55. That's a miniscule difference where the gap in interior and build quality is immensely in favor of the Benz. New C43 vs. M340i isn't going to be anywhere near this tight from a performance perspective. The C43 is way fatter with a much less capable motor.
