Question about "max defrost" mode:
In other cars we've owned, maximum front defrost adds A/C to the mix. That makes sense as A/C is a dehumidifier. In our C43, when we hit the max defrost button the A/C doesn't come on and if we manually turn the A/C on, the max defrost shuts off. Do we have an issue or is this how MBZ works? Logically, to me, for max defrost capability, A/C should be dehumidifying the air.

I had to double check, but yes that's how it works. To be honest I don't think I've ever used the windshield defroster in modern cars. Just having the AC on and the system in Auto all the time removes the moisture from the cabin so the windows don't fog up in the first place or the quickly defog without having to blow air at it. I think blowing warm air at the glass is more effective, because the cold windshield is what causes the condensation in the first place
