Burning smell from exhaust

Hey guys, I finally purchased a new 2018 C43 AMG. It's a 2018 with about 33k kms. One thing I did notice after a drive today was that there was a burning smell coming out of the exhaust. I can only smell it when im at the back of the car. I did notice a decent amount of carbon build-up on the exhaust tips. Is this normal for the C43? I was driving in Sport+ mode but I didn't push the car very hard.

Burning as in oil burning? Or something else?

It does somewhat smell like oil burning. It almost smells like crayons. I read another post about it and apparently it was normal for that to happen during engine break-in, but this is wayyy after engine break-in.

Keep an eye on your oil level over the next few weeks to see if there is a noticeable drop (make sure your methodology of checking the oil is consistent each time).

Are you tuned or running a JB4? Are you running catless downpipes?

Will do! The car is bone stock. The car was placed in a garage and not driven for about a month, if that contributes to anything. It still has a year of warranty left, if the problem presists, I might just drop it off to get them to check it out. I'll try driving it in different modes and see if the smell is there next time too.

Rolled 56,500 miles this morning on my way in to the office. The melting crayon smell remains, but is almost exclusively present in warmer months. Unless you're smelling burning oil or seeing white/blue smoke, nothing to be concerned about.
