How to raise governed speed

Likewise, I have often wondered if the dealer could/would do this if I replaced the H speed-rated stock RFTs with Y speed-rated Michelin Pilot Sports. Any experience or advice? I don't want to get into a tune, either...

To answer the OP’s question: I am not aware of a way to do this without a tune.

Just to clarify - my question is about raising the governed speed (which, as i understand it, is set based on OEM tires' speed rating and ability), not increasing horsepower output. Not sure if the OP is asking for the same thing that I am...

Correct, the top speed governor can only be raised with a tune. It's essentially baked into the ECU and can't be changed via coding by a dealership. Only a tuner or the factory can change it. The question of horsepower is a different one. Obviously there's a physical limit of how fast the car can go with stock power, but it's higher than the governor is set.

A number of years ago I drove an e39 M5..You could circumvent the 150 mph cutoff by using the cruise control to accelerate thru it..My S4 Audi had an APR stage 2 tune that bypassed it, but other than a tuner coding it out, Im not aware of any way to do it on these particular cars

vMax can be safely raised to 250km/h without any tuning via XENTRY with the development data kit or via Vediamo. I’ve done it on my ‘18 C43 and it takes about 6 mouse clicks. The lack of actual knowledge on this forum is seemingly endless.

The only knowledge predominant on this forum is where to buy wheels, spacers, downpipes and add-ons..splitters, spoilers etc etc..

UPDATE: Did my homework with BenzNinja and cannot rationalize the cost for this one car. The price of admission is around $950 to $1,100 including required equipment and membership.
