Tire question

Are they’re any good performance run flats?
I have a ‘19 c43
and I feel like the tires are the weak point of performance on this car.

PFL205.064 with M276.823 (Oil pump solenoid defeated)
Do you absolutely need run flats? They don't ride the best either if that is also something you might care about...?
Edit: Sorry, my bad forgot to include the tires I recommend, I personally have 18s PS4s non-runflats and they are phenomenal tires, if you live in a place that rains a lot, I recommend AS3+, if you go for PS4s I do not recommend driving in temperatures below 7 degrees celsius. AS3+, you may be able to get away from it but I also don't recommend either.

Performance and run-flats don't really go together. Just like performance all-season is kind of an oxymoron. At least not as far as the standard available tires are concerned. The C8 Corvette, though, comes with Pilot Sport All Season 4 tires and they seem rather good, but they are specifically made for the Corvette. These are not the standard AS4. They are said to have 1.00g lateral grip compared to the 1.03 to 1.05 for the PS4 summer performance tires. If that's actually true in the real world, that's quite impressive.

Though I'd also always thought that, many of the record-pace laps on the GTR/Pro have been set on the Cup 2 ZP (zero-pressure/run-flat) tires which, AFAIK are the ones homologated for the Corvette C8. Perhaps this is due to some new/improved tire tech.

However, from many reports they are even worse as a road tire than the Cup 2 tires (more noise, rougher ride, etc. ... as would be expected) and wear even more quickly than the Cup 2 tires (which wear much more quickly than PS4S, for example).

Yes, the Cup 2 ZP was specifically developed for the Corvette C7 ZO6 and ZO6. These are not tires broadly available for other vehicles and in various sizes. All car manufacturers work directly with the tire manufacturers to specifically engineer tires for their cars. That's what the manufacturer specific sidewall designations such as MO, MO1 etc. for MB/AMG and the Star designation for BMW etc. is all about. My comment was more general on the broadly available ZP tires. Some of the innovations that come out of these bespoke tires may make it into the standard tires over time, but not always.

As another example, below is a good video about what BMW has done with the PS4S in cooperation with Michelin for the new M3/4. This is a different PS4S tire from the standard PS4S. I'm thinking of trying it next if it happens to be available in the sizes I need for my C63.

PS4S for performance. AS4 is also pretty good for performance but it rides noticeably quieter compared to the PS4S.
