C43 and E50/85whatever/FlexFuel
I'm seeing a number of Supras making big gains with flex fuel E50/E85. I have searched but wanted to know if there is anything recent or new with C43s and flex fuel/tuning. I've seen some kits for sale, but is it worth it? I'm sure someone has tried already. I did see something about JB4 and some E something. Just want to know if that is still the best option. Thanks.

Yes we at Martin Tuning have pieced together the perfect upgrades for the c43 and us and a few others are running e50+ with proper fueling upgrades. We recommend no more than e25 with stock fuel system. The check engine light Freder was talking about was most likely a low fuel pressure trip. You do not want to hit that limit too often. Low fuel is bad news for an engine if the computer doesnt catch it in time!

Here is a useful ethanol calculator:
https://www.brewcityboost.com/about-...ol-calculator/
Obviously is presupposes e85 actually being full e85 (but the pumps in CA that sell e85 can be as low as e50).

With what you were talking about referring to my CEL would I notice the car, in a sense starving of gas at WOT or speeds above triple digits trying to pull at full boost? I haven't yet come across that yet. Or does that not happen? And for clarity what is the ratio for E50 or E25. If I'm putting in 4 gal E85 wouldn't that be E25 to me?
yea the CEL you are seeing is due to low fuel pressure most likely.

Star4life, does martintuning tune cars? What can a c450 stock expect to gain (whp, and trap speed) with a tune and 93 octane? What about the same set up with E25 on stock fueling? Next time I'm in Michigan I need to check out the shop! Should be there next month, might bring my car for a tune : )

You guys better be checking your Ethanol content every time you fill up. An old fashioned test tube works better than an inline analyzer. Content varies between 55% and 90% and if you are fueling for a hot tune, you don't want to end up with an E30 when you are tuned for an E70.
I run E30 and it makes a huge difference but I have an E30 tune.
My car club has a few blown 63's from the guys who never test the content.

are the fuel lines OK for more than 15% ethanol? my understanding is that unless the fuel lines are OK for E85 the high ethanol content will damage them. not to mention the injectors.
