I don’t see where it would interfere with the strut bar. Here’s some pics with it installed. Really sweet piece, not cheap for sure but I feel the cost is justified for the quality. It did pic up some power according to Draggy ~.1 0-60 but I need to dial in my JB4 setting in the midrange 70-100 number are off just as they were before the install. 1/8 & 1/4 mile picked up also about the same. I never did post my review of the install and product, just too much going on and frankly I just wash it as it’s the wife’s daily. Only 2 minor gripes, the tiny Allen bolts holding the tubes to the box have 1 that is nearly inaccessible/useless and the silicon couplers to the tube that mate to the factory inlet on rad support don’t seem to want to stay in place. I tweek them when I wash weekly and they are almost always disconnected. Didn’t want to cut the cover, awaiting the carbon release….
been waiting almost a year for that answer. It's the only reason I'm holding back ON buying the intake. Because I'm not about to trim my OEM engine cover.
We have a sheet metal version that we are going to fit check as soon as our C43 arrives next wee. We will offer a sheet metal version like the one shown below as well as a sheet metal with a legitimate carbon fiber overlay on top.
Here are some pictures of the CAD and the physical prototype:
Awesome, glad to hear. I, like others, have held off on the intakes for release of the engine cover (mainly because mine is already cut to fit the BMS intakes).
What other mods have u done?
the install seems to be pretty straight forward.
I’m not real mechanical
still debating
I think I’ve pretty much tapped out as far as mods go.. (although I’m sure there is always room to grow)
current setup:
catless DP
Modalworks intake
wagner intercooler
hpfp + lpfp
ECC ecu, cpc, tcu + custom dyno tune E40 blend
C63s/amg gt breaks ( thank you to Martin tuning!)
Most definitely is! Thank you! It’s putting down around 450-470whp and around 500-530wtq +/- very fun car, I daily drive mine and use it for spirited driving as well. Best of both worlds and it sounds great as well
Wanted to give an update here as we have made some revisions to the design to help with fitment and to allow us to offer the intakes to more vehicles.
We have added a billet aluminum velocity stack connector that mates to the turbocharger and attaches to the intake tube via a 4ply silicone coupler. This resolves a fitment concern on the C400
If you have a gen1 system and would like to exchange the lower tubes please email us at support@modalwork.com with your original order number and we will take care of you.

Do u have the green plug on the jb4 connected?
any issues with fitting this intake on that side?
thx
