17 c43 convertible changing emblems

Hey guys, so I bought black emblems for the back which should be pretty straight forward to install besides these 2 questions. First the mercedes emblem is on top of the rear camera so wanted to know if there was a trick for that, and second I haven't done these before, should I completely clean under the badges or should I leave a trace of it so I can align the new badges properly? Thanks in advance.

Not sure how the star emblem works on the coupes. But to answer your question on how to align them, trace the badge with tape while its still on the car that way you'll have an outline of the exact spot where it needs to be.

That's just crazy enough to work lol, legit that makes a lot of sense I'll try that with some painters tape on the rest. The new star badge has 3 points sticking out of the back of it that I'm guessing goes into something but wanted to see if someone else has done it before I screw it up. Thanks for the reply

You should remove the badge first then you can work on it that way, someone wrote a guide to do this:

you won’t need to trace around the star emblem because of the 3 holes on the trunk. It’ll fit perfectly on its own, but for others using painters tape will do the trick. The star emblem was a pain for me to take off so you might struggle a bit with that one.

On the rear star just feed fishing line under each leg of the star and then move the line so that it is close to the center of the star. Holding firmly all 3 ends (actually 6) of fishing line quick motion to pop it off. Easy.
