Not sure if other tuners add "launch control", but technically you can't have launch control in a 43. Not possible, because it has a torque converter. What they call launch control is a software function to brake boost off the line. You can do this manually by standing on the brakes and carefully give it some throttle to take the engine to the stall rpm of the torque converter, just before it starts transferring power to the drivetrain. This will build engine boost, and then let go off the brakes. Just be careful to not damage the torque converter by giving it too much throttle. True launch control only applies to transmissions with a clutch as found in the C63. That way the engine can freely rev, and the computer does a controlled clutch drop when you let go of the brakes.

Thats what I thought. But how does Audi and BMW do Launch control in their 8speed autos?

Even the new M3/M4 is an Auto and no longer a dual clutch.

Is the Launch control just software engineered brake boost?

Yes, just computer assisted brake boosting for all of them.

As I said. It's simply computer assisted brake boosting. It even says so in parenthesis (boost off the line). That's all it is. AMG just hasn't done it from the factory for their models that use the TCT transmission. Not sure why. Perhaps, because they simply don't believe in its viability, or they want a clear separation between the 63 and 43 models, with the 63 models having a true clutch dumping launch control like a race car, hence them calling it Race Start.
