Lease rates for c43

What are you lot seeing for lease rates in Canada ? I looked at a fully loaded c43 coupe 2021, and am getting it around $1550 a month, with no discounts unfortunately. Seems like with the chip shortage, it’s not possible. Am I being played with here? Went to a few different dealers and all
said the same thing.

if multiple dealers are saying the same thing, guess it might be true. sedans are usually a bit cheaper, but not sure if you still want to be in that +1000 territory...maybe a bmw 440 if it is noticeably cheaper?

It's cheaper to buy. AMG leases are always at a premium especially in todays market.. BMW might be a better option if set on lease.

That seems extraordinarily high, even considering current supply chain constraints. My monthly on a 48 month balloon finance ($28K residual) for an Ontario 2020 C43 sedan is only slightly more than half what you’ve been quoted.

Caveats: I put down $12,500 at signing and had the following packages (not fully loaded, but nicely equipped — my choices were limited to what was in dealer inventory):

DP1 - Premium Package
- Navigation Services
- Smartphone Integration
- Apple CarPlay
- Google Android Auto
- Integrated Garage Door Opener
- Active Parking Assist
- Live Traffic Information
- Touchpad
- 360-Degree Camera
- COMAND Online Navigation
- SiriusXM Satellite Radio
- Burmester Surround Sound System
- 10.25inch Central Media Display
- Foot Activated Tailgate Release
- EASY-PACK Power Trunk Closer
- Keyless Go
- Wireless Phone Charging- Front

DA1 - AMG Driver's Package
- Top Speed Raised to 250 KM/H
- AMG Track Pace
- AMG Performance Steering Wheel in Black
Nappa/DINAMICA
- AMG Performance Exhaust System
- AMG Drive Unit
- 19inch AMG 5-Twin Spoke Wheel

DT1 - Technology Package
- 12.3inch Instrument Cluster Display
- Adaptive Highbeam Assist (AHA)
- MULTIBEAM LED Lighting System

H31 - Anthracite Oak Wood Open Pore Trim

RSV - 19inch AMG 5-Twin Spoke Aero Wheel, Bi-Colour

R01 - Summer Performance Tires

51U - Black Fabric Roof Liner

Mercedes-Benz lease rates in Canada gone crazy lately, BMW in Canada is so much more attractive. On a related news, I don't know where you reside in but MB Canada is selling their corporately owned dealerships collectively as Toronto Retail Group to private dealerships which means you are no longer going to get corporate owned dealership discounts once the deal is done by the end of Q1 2022.

No offense but putting that much down on a balloon loan is unwise, you're buying payment only. Not a great deal. Balloons are losers, better off straight finance.

Yeah, I fully get the pro/con calculus on lease vs. finance vs. balloon. It made sense in my case for a bunch of reasons, not the least of which is the fact that it made it simpler to run through my corporation while building back end equity and keeping the payments only nominally higher than a lease. Will a low km/well maintained C43 be worth more than $28K after 4 years? Highly likely.

I typically go for a high upfront lump sum in favour of lower monthlies, with the ancillary benefit of shaving down the implicit finance charge over the term.

That's a very high rate even for a coupe.

I’m in the states but that seems high to me too… that’s $400 more monthly than my 36 month loan on a 2018 coupe w 18k miles. I know Canada is usually a bit more expensive but I think you can find a better option in either buying or leasing a different car tbh.

Do you guys recommend just financing it for now then, for an older 2019 cpo? There’s no changes between 2019 and 2021 cars anyway besides a 25k price difference lol.

Personally I'm not a fan of pre-owned AMG, CPO or not. Used AMG's carry risk. There are endless threads on the CPO value proposition. Basically all you're certifying is that its a used car. There is no way to verify the inspection was conducted in the proper manner and standards were met. It's as good as the person that inspected the vehicle, period.

I'd get the newest model I could, finance it and enjoy it as long as you can!

With the current conversion rate of $1500 Canadian being approximately $1178 USD:

That price for a lease is very high in my opinion. I realize the market has changed, but this car is not worth that per month IMO (coming from a guy who LOVES his c43 coupe). It is approximately $500 USD more per month than I paid for my car in 2019 after $15,000 down payment and 1.99% APR.

Forever leases were a good way to access vehicles that were simply to pricey to finance as they required no cash down and lower payments along with a tax edge if written through a business. Things have changed, the only way to get the payment lower is to put cash into the deal which and take a longer than 36 month term which is never a good idea on a leased vehicle. Leases have now become a premium product. Some automakers still offer decent lease deals but MB is not one of them. I agree, financing is the better option.

Finance, yes put cash down but lease please don't put cash down. Finance, putting cash down means you are putting down payment. Lease, down payment serves as capital cost reduction. Although I don't hope this happens to anyone but if your vehicle gets stolen, involved in an accident or anything along those lines... that capital cost reduction is gone.

As of right now, it's horrible to buy a new car regardless if financing or leasing. I was able to get my 2020 C43 for $570/mo right after the pandemic occurred. The C43 can be leased for practically C300 price because if you want brand, you go for C300, if you want all out performance, you go C63 so not a lot of C43 were selling, which made negotiating for C43 easy. Same thing with Audi S class or BMW M340i. Prices are *** right now, so don't even bother lol. Dealerships are offering me $85k - $90k for my C43 so there is no way they would sell brand new C43 for cheaper than that.

For the current time maybe. I got mine in 2020 in SoCal as well and it was $0 down and $570/mo. MSRP with all the options I had was $67k.

It is. This was right after the pandemic in 2020, when it was a lot easier to get a good deal. I would think that $670/mo now is comparably good, since inventory is way down currently and inflation went up quite a bit.

The car market is so far removed from what it was in 2019, it ludicrously high now compared to then..Supply chains issues, inflation, etc etc...

Understood and wholly agreed. That said, the c43 is not worth approximately $1,150 USD per
month (just my humble opinion) - especially for a lease.
