Carbon Fiber Repair

I have a carbon fiber piece that needs repairing or new mold, unfortunately there is no one that does carbon fiber repair or molding in my area(South Carolina). I was told that my piece may be repairable, worse case I have to get a new mold of it. Does anyone know someone that I can send this piece to? Little info on what happened, this second piece of my front lip was ripped off and I accidentally ran it over, the piece is still intact but looks like the epoxy resin or clear coat needs to be redone. I prefer someone on the east coast with fast returns but If I have to send it to someone in the west coast, I can do that too! Thanks.

I need this second bottom piece repaired or remolded.

If the embedded carbon fiber weave is not broken, you may be able to repair as you would by using a filler on a body panel except that you'll use epoxy/fiberglassing resin instead of filler. I've repaired multiple rock-chips, this way, but if there are deep cracks/etc. the issue would be having the resin soak into the cracks. You could test this by doing a small section on a bottom area that wouldn't show. The resin I used (see below) is specifically designed to be very "wet" and soak into every nook 'n cranny. It also remains slightly flexible when cured (i.e., will take a fair amount of flexing without cracking).

Picture(s) may help us guess whether this would be likely to work.

Be aware that sanding the resin surface is much harder than sanding body-panel filler (because the cured resin is very hard). I've found wet 'n dry paper to be the best. Ditto for the polishing effort. FWIW, I've used the following products in such repairs and have done lots of other fiberglassing projects using this resin and found that it is very high quality ... e.g., some custom parapet roof/wall caps I made that are over a decade old and show no deterioration and some left-over resin on my garage floor:
- SystemThree SilverTip Epoxy: https://www.systemthree.com/products...ng-epoxy-resin
- Meguiar's 105 and 205 polishing compound

I'm not sure if you can tell, but the front of the lip looks like the weave is fine but the resin needs to be fixed. As for the back side, the weave is broken and cracked, you might be able to tell where it splits. I wasn't too concerned about getting the back fixed, mainly the front where the resin is cracked. Let me know if this is repairable but I would like to get this shipped off to somewhere to get new molds if not fixed, I don't have a lot of free time to touch this cause of work. Thanks!
