I've never had such a hard decision to make with regard to my cars before and I need some serious input on this.
I currently own a 2017 C300 (20k miles) and a 2004 Corvette Z06 (100k miles). I have loans on both and currently pay 750/month for both plus insurance. I pay 200/month for insurance for both. The corvette has been a money sink ever since I bought it and now the throwout bearing/slave cylinder assembly is failing and it's going to cost 2k to repair it and the car is now almost undriveable after nursing this issue for 2 years. I'm also in the process of trying to buy a house so I'm trying to be careful with my finances. Later this month I am going to have the corvette repaired and at which time I will sell it and attempt to get break even for what I owe. Now, the dilemma.
I'm a sports car enthusiast, always have been. I can't be without something with power. Once I sell my z06, I'll only have my c300. I love my c300, such an amazing car that I love driving, but it just doesn't have the power that I need to be happy as my only car. So, the question that I pose to everyone is... when I sell it do I buy a base C7 or a C43 to replace it???? I absolutely cannot decide because I hate the interior of the C7 but I love the performance and at the same time I love the interior and styling of the C43 and understand that I can tune the C43 to perform like a C7 without too much difficulty. I'd love to hear some discussion on the merits of both cars. I know a C7 base is quicker than a stock C43 but with a tune things get interesting and also a C43 can probably gap a C7 off the line on the street anyway.
I plan to drive these cars everyday which makes me initially want to lean towards the C43 because the comfort of the C300 is night and day vs. the corvette. You might be asking why I don't just get a C63 then? Well that's because I live in California where the price of a house is totally ****ed otherwise I'd be driving a C63 or C7Z on my salary.
I appreciate everyone's input on this. Thank you.

Unless you need two cars for some reason, sell them both and get a c43 or a c63. Both make great daily drivers.

This is probably the answer unless you care about gas or need 4matic.Originally Posted by Thrilla

Otherwise sounds like an SL550 is the move

My previous car was a 2004 CTS-V with the identical drivetrain to your Vet..I also did the clutch/bearing/slave cylinder act. I decided to sell it and bought a c450 AMG, basically the same car as a C43 from 2017 on..It is as quick as the CTS-V was, probably a little better, without the noise..You will not be disappointed IMHO..The sound of a Z06 winding up is a beautiful sound, but absolute performance is not much different, perhaps a little more subtle..Find one and drive it, you will see.

Those are cool cars and they do perform well from what I've seen. I think I eliminated those due to age, mileage, maintenance needs, and mpg. Now the SL- series is interesting but I am honestly more into the styling and design of the W205 C-class cars. Originally Posted by Adi-Benz

Sounds like a comparable experience as me. I kind of like having the two cars because when I'm in the mood for one or the other it works great. Having the raw, go-cart, loud v8 6 speed when I want to go mess around on friday/saturday nights vs. wanting a nice smooth comfortable ride to run some errands or take the lady out to dinner. Now I need to find a happy medium. Novice question here, but is the C400 the same engine as the 450 and 43? Is the difference just tuning from the factory? I would not be opposed to tuning for more power and other light modifications. Can't seem to find a lower mileage 400/450 for the life of me, they all have at least 35-50k miles.
