Give me input on my Dilemma
I currently own a 2017 C300 (20k miles) and a 2004 Corvette Z06 (100k miles). I have loans on both and currently pay 750/month for both plus insurance. I pay 200/month for insurance for both. The corvette has been a money sink ever since I bought it and now the throwout bearing/slave cylinder assembly is failing and it's going to cost 2k to repair it and the car is now almost undriveable after nursing this issue for 2 years. I'm also in the process of trying to buy a house so I'm trying to be careful with my finances. Later this month I am going to have the corvette repaired and at which time I will sell it and attempt to get break even for what I owe. Now, the dilemma.
I'm a sports car enthusiast, always have been. I can't be without something with power. Once I sell my z06, I'll only have my c300. I love my c300, such an amazing car that I love driving, but it just doesn't have the power that I need to be happy as my only car. So, the question that I pose to everyone is... when I sell it do I buy a base C7 or a C43 to replace it???? I absolutely cannot decide because I hate the interior of the C7 but I love the performance and at the same time I love the interior and styling of the C43 and understand that I can tune the C43 to perform like a C7 without too much difficulty. I'd love to hear some discussion on the merits of both cars. I know a C7 base is quicker than a stock C43 but with a tune things get interesting and also a C43 can probably gap a C7 off the line on the street anyway.
I plan to drive these cars everyday which makes me initially want to lean towards the C43 because the comfort of the C300 is night and day vs. the corvette. You might be asking why I don't just get a C63 then? Well that's because I live in California where the price of a house is totally ****ed otherwise I'd be driving a C63 or C7Z on my salary.
I appreciate everyone's input on this. Thank you.
