Wheel Identification (another cracked rim story)
I was the victim of another Pennsylvania pothole last night and it looks like the previous weld repair cracked so I need to replace. I guess this solves the old conundrum of whether to repair or replace…

Edit: Since your original question was the part numbers, I believe they are: A2054015400 (Front wheel) A2054016600 (Rear wheel) Remember there are different colours, yours looks like either a 7x21 or 7x23. so A20540154007x21 or A20540154007x23 for front for example.

Run flats are long gone, I’m running Conti DWS06 tires at 42psi, hoping to give a bit more protection but that obviously didn’t work. I am tempted to drop down to 18’s but the 19’s look so much better and the Contis are pretty new so hate to scrap that investment. Problem this time was an already repaired wheel that cracked again so time for a “new” replacement.

They are too brittle for our cars unfortunately, as the other forum member advised, you should get another set of wheels. It will be cheaper in the long run instead of having to keep replacing these wheels, you could keep those tires, get a quality set of aftermarket 19s to use them again. You could get flow-form or forged but even aftermarket cast will be better than the OEM 19s.

What should I look for in aftermarket wheels to ensure they’re not as brittle as the OEM AMG wheels? Specific alloy type or brands?

I've learned way more about aftermarket wheel construction over the past few days. Would love to pop for forged but flow formed still should be much stronger than cast...which I assume the fragile OEMs are. One thing I was surprised to learn is that they're all custom made so you can't just buy them and have them shipped so I guess I'll be grounded for a few weeks once I decide on a wheel.

Is there any possible way to exactly know if they are original or not??
all engravings and serial numbers seem to be original!!
