If your car is having a problem with the Start/Stop, where it's suppose to start but it revv in N, then you have a problem with your second battery. If your Start/Stop does not happen after the first hiccup, then you need to replace the second battery and this should resolve the problem. You will not see a notice on the dash but the module will keep this information in the history as low-voltage.

My 2017 C43 just started doing this the other day and I'm so bummed to find others with this problem but never solved. After driving for a while, if I go into R gear I can't shift back into D, it'll always pop from D straight into N. If I power off the car and restart then I can go into D. No other issues with the car other than the CEL appearing but no errors on the car computer. I was driving around with a low battery error for a while and was too lazy to replace it, so hopefully it goes away as mysteriously as it came or guess it's time to trade it in, I was getting used to having no payments.
