Hopefully someone else chimes in in the meantime, it should look something like this https://cimg7.ibsrv.net/gimg/www.mbw...e21897070c.jpg (although that is the W213) the screen you are showing might be the correct one but just looking at the version you have, it seems like it is a pretty recent version so it isn't outdated by any means... see if you can find the same/similar screen to the W213).

So I was poking around and I went into driving programs and the first option was start learn mode. It said successful. Now my sports isn't taking off as fast and it's much quieter =( lol.hopefully that will resolve in time

That said, I was able to get to my car just now and the version of my COMAND is the exact same as yours, I never recalled ever requesting for COMAND updates back when I had warranty, maybe your headunit was never updated either?
However, mine syncs contacts, so that is super strange yours doesn't : /
