Hi everyone,

Like a lot of other folks that own this car, I'm running into some issues with my OEM 19" AMG wheels. My car uses a staggered setup and given how low profile the tires are, along with the very stiff suspension, it's very easy to crack and bend these wheels. I hit a pothole twice and cracked my front-right rim twice, bending it the second time along with a new crack. I got a band-aid solution done by welding the rims twice and re-straightening them the second time, but now I'm running into issues again.

My car uses the following setup:
  • Tires
    • Front: 225/40 R19
    • Rear: 255/35 R19
  • Rims
    • Front: 19x7.5, offset 44mm*
    • Rear: 19x8.5, offset 56mm*
* the offset values were measured by America's Tire when they were replacing the tires on my rims.

Does anyone have any suggestions for what rims to get here? Preferably a place selling it within the US, my budget is around $1500.

Thanks!

You could probably get oem 18s and get Michelin ps4s non RFT.
You could also ask in the wheel fitment thread

Here is an option mentioned before on the forums (I have no experience with them) https://www.alloywheelsdirect.net/

I have a set of OE 18s from my W205 I can sell you, they are the 5 spoke style. 18s would give you more tire profile which absorbs bumps in the road much better than 19s.

I had this issue. Living in the NYC area, with moonscape roads, I feel your pain.

I had the OEM stagger on my 2019, with the 225 fronts on a 45, and the 245 rear, as a 40. 18 inch wheels OEM, I knew not to order the 19 inches based on past experience.

After my second cracked rear rim (@$1k), even after going to regular tires (michelin PS AS) I ditched the whole setup. I have been running for the last 100k miles 235x45 on 18, with a 30 offset fronts and 45 offset rear. The wheels are BBS. Sadly can't rotate due to the offsets, but you probably could if all were 30 offset. TUV approved wheels for the W205 and no spacer nonsense.

I still need wheel truing when I get new tires, but I haven't had to replace a rim, no cracks, and the tires tend to last till they wear out, not get a bubble. I've had good luck with Conti DWS, Michelin, Pirelli, and now have a set of Goodyears, which are OK so far.

I can't tell any actual difference in grip, and the simple fact is, along with a BMW I once had also with low profiles, that you need at least a 45 sidewall to survive in the NYC metro area....most tire threads are for guys who want to put a 21 inch wheel x 30 sidewall and think spacers are an intelligent idea for a car that can hit the speed limiter at will......
