I suppose if you don't consider their opinion important (but then the article is rendered meaningless). Why even comment?

I like HP, but I need TQ and I don't want to drive like I stole it.

If I was single and no kids.. M3 for me.

I'm with you on that. I love Mercedes torque. That's why I'm dumping my M6 for a CLK63 Black(due in November)

That's what i'm saying. Magazine writers would consider the M3 over C63 because M3 comes with stick, sportier, and hp+tq comes later than earlier for track use. they don't have to live with the car for a few years like most of us. so when they say they would pick the M3 over C63 is really not a big deal to us who are probably going to buy these cars for the roads. like you said, 63 engine is so much more street friendly than M engines, esp vs. the new M generations.

Even on with my E46 M3, I get pissed at how slow my car can be due to lack of torque at low RPM. on the other hand C55 would break your neck from 0 to whatever.

this E92 M3 really has nothing going for me. it's down on power, and now the looks. at least E46 M3 had looks over the C55.

I'm single with no kids, but I love carrying ladies in the back. so, no M3 for me until the 4 door comes out.

A very valid point, although as long as you're carrying the right kind of ladies (in shape) they should be able to squeeze in the backseats.

The paddle-shift still isn’t quite beyond reproach, particularly sitting next to the Bimmer’s fantastically slick manual.
Riiiight. I suppose I should take their word for it since the stock BMW shifters are sloppier than a two dollar hooker.

needs to get into another BMW
Personally I think M and AMG cater to different types of drivers. M builds the track minded cars which means high revs, manual box, and a suspension to handle whatever you throw at it.

AMG is more the hardcore street performer, it's fast in a straight line but still plenty comfortable and easy to drive. I'm NOT saying it can't handle, it's got plenty of grip for more than any average driver is going to come close to on the street. It's at the limit where the real difference between the cars comes out.
