You referred to price and I referred to vehicle size.
I will quote the article that you posted.
"Either way, the 2009 CTS-V will have roughly 525 horsepower, a figure that will put it slightly ahead of direct competitors like the Audi S6, BMW M5 and Mercedes-Benz E63 AMG."
This doesn't rise to the level that warrants much argument. I simply don't care for the car. You do. It is good to have great choices.

If they quell that rear axle hop problem the last generation had, that is going to be one angry car. I hope it comes with the LS7... throw a Lingenfelter supercharger on it and you will have one of the Baddest cars out there. I'd buy one a year old after it's lost 30% of it's value though.

Yes the tire hop problem has been eliminated. It's not coming with the LS7 its going to have a new engine called the LSA which is a 6.1 or 6.2 i forget but it does come supercharged with 500+ hp. O YES ILL BE GETTING ONE...

very nice!
I like it!
great engine too!
525hp seems about right for stock (so much for the 600hp rumors)
525hp plus a smaller pulley (aftermarket) then.. 600hp is no problem.
I like the whole package.. the interior is better than the C class and on par with any E class.
If priced around mid 60's.. it will sell well.
I doubt this thing will be anything below 60k. (since its competitors are high 90k price range)
btw: The note the Audi S6.. not the RS6. The RS6 wil be the king of the road in 2009.

I just test drove an AWD CTS with the DI V6. I was pretty impressed. The interior is in a different class all together from my current CTSV. It is definitely more fitting of a car in the upper $40k price range. Power, obviously, is lacking in the V6 compared to mine but it did have a good bit of get-up and go. The handling felt very German-like. Not quite as sporty as a BMW and not quite as soft as a MB. Personally, I like to feel the bumps so I felt it was a bit soft. The AWD does not come in the sportiest suspension offering (FE3) that you can get in the RWD versions. I probably would have liked the FE3 more.
I hope the V gets some good reviews b/f the C63 hits the road. Then I can make a very good, informed decision on my next purchase!

I don't care for the styling, but again, Caddy designs in such a way that people either like it or very much dislike it. For the money and performance, I would choose the Nissan Skyline due next spring!

For me, it all comes down to whats under the hood. If it has the n/a LS7 engine from the Z06 then it will be a monster, no doubt...but I don't think its enough to make me get this car.
If it has a "detuned" supercharged engine that will be in the future Corvette ZR-1 then this car will be outrageous. Maybe I'll stop by Caddy sometime and see what info they got.

Long story short...
Nissan gave me a written agreement that I'd get it at sticker price. I put a deposit down on it.
I got a call from the sales manager saying that they won't honor my agreement and they want to give my money back. All GT-R's will go for $20k over sticker. I'm on the GT-R forums and from what I've seen, every single dealer is charging at least an extra $20k, some go up to $70k.
I'm still fighting for it, but it looks like its gonna be too late and I'm totally disgusted with the dealership. Sucks huh?

if you have it in writing from someone with actual or aparent authority for that allocation, price and terms relatively clear, and gave consideration for that option then I would say you have an enforceable option contract with them for the most part and they need to honor it. I wouldn't accept your deposit back or accept anything less than those terms without other consideration on their part.

I want the new CTS-V badly. The styling looks great, the interior is supposed to be much improved, they redesigned the rear-end to eliminate the wheel hop that plagued the last CTS-V, it will be mod friendly with a supercharger, it will come with a true 6 speed tranny, and it will be in the low $60s. I truly feel this car will put a hurting on the Germans. It's much cheaper than its' direct competitors (E63, M5, new RS6) and power-wise will blow away the German sedans close to its' price range (C63, M3, RS4). I guarantee the mods will be half as expensive as the E55 mods. German mods are a rip-off. I know b/c I own a B5 twin turbo S4
