RS4 Question

Sorry guys didnt know where else to post this. But i figured you guys would be the group of people who most seriously considered an Audi RS4.

I have a person who claims to leave an 07 RS4 and only pays 400 a month.

Can you guys describe under what circumstances would allow a person to only pay 400 a month for this car?

Did this man leave a massive down payment of like 40K or something? Or if he just straight up lying.

What would be the typical lease payment for a 75K car with a 8K to 10K downpayment?

I would say he must be lying. Unless you gave a whole lot of money down.
The average rate on an RS4 is about $700 to $900.

thats not true, the insurence compny will give you a check for the cars value, thus you use the insurence money to pay off the rest of the lease.

That doesn't make sense. It's not a deposit, it's a down payment.

no..

I have anRS4 and there are some people on the audiworld forums who put down $40,000 toward the car and then financed the rest so that the payments would be low. Typical lease payments with nothing down are usually $1200-1300 range per month.

You could put down $80,000 and have the dealer pay YOU $50/month.

Monthly payment means nothing. A lease payment is a dollar amount based on the difference between purchase price and residual value.

Uh, no...

First, you forgot that if a car is totaled, the bank needs to be paid for the car in addition to the cost of the lease. Your insurance company isn't going to give you the money for the car because its not yours.

Second, there is absolutely no advantage to putting a large down payment for a lease. Once you write that check, its gone and best case, you have lower lease payments for the lease term... if it isn't totaled. If you total a leased car (assuming you have gap insurance), your insurance will pay the lien holder the remainder of your financial obligation of the lease and the cost of the car.

As F10 said, never put money down on a lease. You will never be able to recoup that down payment.

If you got the means to accumulate $40K burning a hole in your pocket then why not just save up a little longer, buy one outright and bypass the whole monthly payment nuisance; you'd have to be a f***in idiot to lease or finance at that point.

Probably is salvaged . Lol, I had a guy come up to once claiming that if I took over his lease on a W211 E55 AMG that it would only be like $650 per month. When I asked how he got such a good deal he said he knew someone that worked at MB Corp. in Germany and that they did something that had to do with the importation . On top of that, he did not look like the most trusting fellow if you know what I mean .
