Not exactly sure but it could be one of those marketing things where they can offer new features for 09 to keep sales flowing. I think it will be available for the entire C class for 09.

I should be able to tell you exactly, once we will receive few of them at my work which should be anytime now (we handle press fleet for MB). They will all come with a monroney.

I stumbled upon this while searching for pictures of the C63 in white with the pano roof...anyone have any info if this is true or not? Apparently it was posted back in Sept. '07.

Here in the U.S., if Mercedes prices their C63 above $67k, then they will definately have a very difficult time selling the car, especially given that BMW M3 will be priced around $60k and the IS-F possibly $55k

yeah, but probably doesn't include the premium packages that will split among themselves (a) better climate control, (b) decent stereo system, (c) decent interior bits, etc... this is the way of mercedes anymore. it'll end up around $80k with the options worth having, since each premium package will likely cost $5-8k. i remember when the slk55 came out, and the way they had the must-have options split among 2 or 3 different "premium" (or is that "ream-ium") packages added about $15k to the base.
consider me a hater on these "base price" shenanigans.

Holy Shiznet!! I just got a heads-up call from MB!! The car will be priced under 60k! I'm pretty sure with all the other options and Taxes the out-the-door total will be at least 70k. Prices will be officially released tomorrow.
. I'm not too thrilled about the cheap looking interior......but I might get one to play with for couple of years! Decisions decisions decisions!!!!

looking for E55 AMG
I just priced a M3 on BMW USA and it was $65k nicely appointed. I didn't add the upgraded sound b/c that is always a rip off. There is even an option to add wood(looking) interior and carbon fiber(looking) interior. Big plus from the E46 M3.
If the C63 is going to be mid to high 60's loaded...no thanks. I sat in a regular C class this week and the interior is HORRIBLE. It looks just like a Chrysler 300. For that kind of coin the interior needs to be atleast decent. Leather was cheap looking and plastic all over the place.
I'll be in a used E55 instead unless the interior looks a lot better. I think they will have a hard time competing with the new M3 at that price. Just my two cents.

Thanks. I'm torn over this car and the M3. The M-DCT transmission and the LSD of the M3 are appealing but the sheer torque and good looks of the C63 are hard to discount. That price is extremely competitive.

looking for E55 AMG
I guess you are pretty much paying for an engine and a 300 interior. I think you will still be mid 60's once you add options. For mid to high 50's I might consider it b/c of the raw HP, but the interior still kills me. Maybe it is b/c I am trying to campare it to an E55's interior. Night and day difference.
I am coming out of an 04 E46 and the reason I am still not driving that car is b/c of the interior. I am not saying the interior needs to be like a Bentley or anything like that, but BMW and MB need to realize that people buy the M3 and C55/63 instead of a 911 for comfort and every day drivability.

I think he meant C300 interior. I don't think the C300 interior is all that bad in the first place though. Another thing to consider is that different color/trim options can make a big difference. For example, I really didn't like the facelifted W203 interior with wood trim, but the charcoal w/ aluminum looked pretty good. Just my $0.02
