experience with deposits...

How do Merc dealers usually do deposits on cars? One dealer i called said 10% non-refundable...

every deposit i've put down on a car was refundable until I actually picked a color and the car went into production...

My dealer wanted $1000 deposit. I placed the deposit back in October. He said it would be refundable if something came up since they would have no problem selling it if I backed out. I think as long as you do not order it with some strange options the dealer should not have a problem selling it especially since the C63 is brand new out.

i put 2g down on the c63 and said it would be 100% refundable. If the lease prices are out of hand I will take it back and get something else.

$1K is the norm for AMG. When I ordered my C55 4 yrs ago the first dealer (New guy close to my home)asked for a $5K non refundable when I was about to sign the order. Went to another dealer (one I had dealt with before but a 40 min drive from home) and my salesman wrote up the deal and put the $1k deposit on his own Credit Card. Guess thats why he's one of the top guys in Canada. Put the $1k deposit on my CC for the C63 though......

my local dealer asked me to deposit 10K non refundable he kept mentioning strong commitment)
so I went up to chicago. and the dealer didn't take deposit but put me on a wait list. there were 400 people a head of me ( as what dealer said )

car will likely be out by april but I guess I won't be getting em until, next year
since there are tons of people waiting for it unless he was bull****ing

i guess its dealer discretion...regardless, ill just use one dealer against the other, I figure Im waiting a year, payin MSRP, so ill go with whoever is most fair with me from the get-go....

does MB offer service loaners even if you did not buy the car at the dealership servicing the vehicle?

Same here. $500 refundable deposit. Said if I didn't want it they would have no problem selling it since they are first ones.

In most states there is no such thing as a non-refundable deposit on an automobile. If a dealership is calling a deposit non-refundable, find another dealership to deal with, they are obviously up to no good.
