Yes, definitely 7 on the new DCT. I'm interested to see how well it works.

I'm a BMW owner. I went looking for a C63 AMG forum, and stumbled in here. I'm debating the E90 M3 versus C63 like obviously a lot of you are.

with all due respect, he ain't talking about a hemi challenger; you forgot the phrase "ultra high-end" in the "2 ultra high performance vehicles" phrase...

reading that sentence a few times, thinking about the fact that these are basically family sedans with bigger engines and performance bits bolted on, i have to say it's one of the greatest quotations of all time. it covers everything from the sublime to the ridiculous about these two cars.

Both of these cars would be considered among the fastest supercars just a few years ago.

I will agree with everyone here about pricing. The M3 you're talking about will likely be in the $75k range. I've seen some dealers in the LA area even marking up the price to $85k

I'm not sure where everyone is getting the 75k figure from. Built to those specs it comes in around 70-71k. There are no markups where I live.

That would be Walk U's E90 sedan that has all the mods available.

The E55 had a pulley and FM HE, but for some reason its not putting the power as it should.

In fact the 335 could not hold boost for 2 runs and lost but once it was able to hold 15lbs it pulled the E55 by 1 car before the E55 had to abort.

So you see.. even a FULLY modded 335 will have issues on the open road.

You are barking on the wrong tree my friend.. and you definately not sounding very educated on your responses.
Most 335i's do not have down pipes, CAI, or run race gas. I am a member of e90post.com and am aware that the ecu tuned 335i's aren't perfect and have issues. I'm not even sure why you felt the need to chime in on my 335i comment with such a defensive tone.

Why? Because I am saying the M3 may be the overall superior vehicle? Its funny how I get to experience the two extremes from this and the M3 forums. The typical M3 fanboys refuse to belive there are cars faster than/better than the M3. However, its not as bad in this forum, but I can still feel to an extent that people get very defensive when comparing the two. For the record, I have never owned a BMW and my family drives Mercedes. So if anything, I am biased towards Mercedes.

looking to buy a 135 for my daily driver.. I'm all over the N54 engine.

Even looking to a buy A X5 3L Turbo Diesel

I read the posts everyday.

no harm in comments.. but you cant just say 460lbs of torque without qualifying your statement. You refered to 460 to the wheels or to the crank?

I was referring to 460 crank...roughly 400 to the wheels. I remember someone posted dyno's of that 335i on 6speedonline and e90 post I believe. The tuned N54 is definately one the hottest engines around, especially for its price. You'll definately have fun in the 135...but I personally just can't get over its looks.

Thought about that, but seeing how the C63 is cheaper is could be the opposite....Doubt it though.

Actually, yes I have. My previous vehicle was an IS300, hence my username. I added an aftermarket turbo kit and could take E46 M3's all day. Thinking back really makes we wish I never sold it

I'm so torn between the C and the 3. We already have a highway crusher in the E55, so it might make more sense to get the M. But:

Looks like there is already a stroker kit from Dinan to bring the M3 to around 520hp.... Granted it won't be cheap, but at least Dinan warranties their modifications.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jlYY6GXkGps&feature=user

Also a company by the name of Kelleners has ecu tuning along with exhaust upgrades to bring the M3 to 454hp...

http://www.kelleners-sport.com/english/index_d.htm

Can't wait to see what is in store for the C63.

True, my buddy has one and it is great. He's getting a Dinan chip next month at the dealership. Just the chip is good for an additional 90hp.

Wow, didn't expect members on this forum are talking about the 335i. I happen to have an E90 335i also, and while it's a very very good engine, I wouldn't go as far as to put it's the hottest out there. Sure with a piggyback/flash and an exhaust plus intake, the car would be in the 12s, then what? Those tiny turbos are so small I bet my wife could pick one up with one hand, there's no "real" turbo kit avaliable yet, only seen one prototype kit by VIP, not to mention couple of people are saying their wastegates are making funny ticking noises, in which I pointed out what the problem might be and describing the real fix for it, but people think they know everything and can fix anything and deleted my post. To cut this short, here's what I see over on e90post: Most members are aggrogant *****s with too much pride in themselves, aftermarket companies aren't that great because their piggybacks & downpipes are cheap pieces which cause a lot of trouble, and lastly, freedom of speech doesn't exist over there. Even with all the crap going on over there, I still love my 335i, because it's ready everyday for work sites punishment.

Back on subject, C63 all the way, however, if the M3 sedan can come with a carbon fiber roof, vice versa.

Why do you have a 335i? That car seems really out of place with the rest of your vehicles.

Yeah, consider all the others are much better, but put yourself in my shoes, would you want to drive one of the AMGs from my list to one of the construction sites I've got in Queens? I wouldn't. This is my perfect drive without worries piece.

I guess I should have elaborated more when I said the N54 engine is one the hottest engines around. I meant that in the sense it can be tuned VERY easily for modest gains, all for a low overall price. I do remember hearing that Dinan was developing larger turbos in the near future. I also completely agree about the the members of e90post and nearly every other BMW forum.

Nice collection of cars

I see there is a little discussion of 335i tuning going on in this thread. I currently have a 335i sedan which has the Dinan Stage 1 ECU flash. The numbers for this flash at the crank are 384hp and 421tq. At the wheels, the flash has been putting up ~335whp and ~370wtq. There is a Dinan Stage 2 Flash/FMIC package coming out which will set the crank numbers at 407hp and 430tq. Pretty exciting stuff. All of that being said though, I am still looking at getting into the C63 when my lease runs out.
