Badges on the rear
Does anyone plan on de-badging the C63, by taking off the C63, mercedes symbol, and the AMG? Just curious as people these days are jealous and would actually scratch your car on purpose just because you have an AMG.

I still wish it said 6.2. Especially on the tach - hard to look at "6.3 v8" when we know it isn't...
I know about the history etc but if you must go that road, use c63 and leave the 6.3 and 6.3 v8 off... just an opinion

Beware
The Mercedes symbol does come off but leaves 3 holes in your trunk. I made that mistake with my C55 when I first got it. No big deal just bought another symbol for $15 from the dealer and popped it back in. I do wish it was a stick on, bc I think the trunk would look sleeker without it...

For that exact reason, I debadged my C55. I know what I have, no need to advertize to the jealous and the foolish. Strongly leaning towards picking up the C63. Going to wait for the AMG challenge in Sept. to make up my mind.

Why would you want to remove the AMG plate when you work so hard to be able to buy something like this. My wife and I both work very hard for our money and we do NOT brag about our cars but why worry about removing the plates because someone else might be jealous. If you work hard for your money you should be able to show nice things. I am not saying to brag about it but why cover it up. That would be like wearing a Rolex watch and keeping your hand in your pocket all the time so no one can see it.

I didn't know that removing the Mercedes Emblem leaves the three holes in the trunk. I guess that will be the only emblem that I don't remove.

I do not think that the average person knows the difference between a AMG and Non AMG Mercedes. I would hope that a person that is into cars that knows the difference in a AMG would have some class and leave it alone. But it is true that some people would be just jealous and it is a shame that it is that way. As long as you are happy removing the badges that is all that matters.

my reason: just looks cleaner. now contemplating the 6.3 on either side. for me it's not about advertising it is an AMG or trying to hide it. i can see an M3 anywhere and pretty much know that it's an M3. i don't need the badge to prove it, unless the person has gone far enough with a non-M to try to make it look like one.
if i don't remove all the letters. i may just move the amg in place of the mercedes badge depending on the placement of the holes and whether the lines and letters will cover them. either way, i'm gonna change something

Unless you plan on ripping off the all the Benz stars too, don't bother if your reason is to deter vandals. No one is going to vandalize because you have an AMG, but people do vandalize because you have a Mercedes. If you get what I mean.

It's all about taste and how you feel, is your car, you work hard for it, don't worry what other people may think or say, you know what you are driving if you feel like removing the badges GO FOR IT.

Back in the 80's (I know), before AMG was part of MB, the sole dealer in the UK was in my town - their approach was add (or in this case) leave the badges, but black matte powdercoat them and all the other chrome on the car - looked spectacular. Seriously considering for mine.
