For me it's just a 1,5h trip to the ring, but last year I also didn't make it
Nice to be so near, its about 4.5 /5 for us from Calais so not too bad, and normally take a few varying routes to take in some unrestricted and some nice country twisty's
Good friend of mine has just moved from CCS Racing and just started at Manthey Racing as Clubsport / Motorsport Sales and Tech Support so have even more of an excuse to get out there next year as he is based in the estate behind the petrol station.
Will be doing one of their private track days next year when the dates get announced, and some of the guys want to also do the MB and Porsche factory / museum trip so will do a 3/4 day one next year.
Been an AMG fan since the days of the 190 Evo...after a short stint in an A220 that saw its fair share of track days, I've finally taken the plunge and got myself an AMG in the form of a 507 edition. Couldn't justify a Black Series so this was the closest thing 3 weeks in, loving the car and will be taking it on track in a few weeks.

Hey Mark, welcome to the forum, great looking 507 you have there, and see you get it from MB Brooklands too

That's also possible and there are hotels all over the area

Damn, that's sound amazing to have the ring of your own.
On weekends it's hard to find lap without too much traffic
I did indeed, faultless service. They even let me back to back test the w205, A45 and GT before I made my choice.
Great bunch over there I agree, I organised a AMG private lounge meet at MBW earlier this year and they were really accommodating and laid on a tour and some people got some track activity.
Quite a few are hopefully heading back for another AMG meet on 3rd October, run through the PL team this time.
Get yourself over there also, as been a few AMG UK / Euro event planned and in planning

When Mitch gives me next year's dates will fire them over and see if your around and able to get on the list ( they limit to around 80 cars )
Great day by all accounts includes track walk, obviously no barrier stop, open pit lane type event, and the KW, Raeder and Manthey team available for set up and support all day.

Sounds amazing, would be great if you give an info when the next event is on plan

Here are a few shots from the other day. Getting to be that time where she goes away for the winter. Trying to enjoy every day I can with it still out.

Actually took a little bit of a gamble and picked it up on ebay for $265. Happy to say it was a really good buy. The quality is great. You need to buy a support bracket to put on because the stock one wont work, but thats my only complaint. It looks a lot more aggressive and has more of a race car look than others on the market, in my opinion. The fins are even replaceable.
heres the link:

i love how aggressive that diffuser is too... where did you get the support bracket? and also, is that ebay seller in the US?
I had my shop put it on, so I couldn't tell you exactly where to get it. But I know there are write ups on here on how to install carbon diffusers and am fairly sure they have details on the bracket. It was from Asia sadly. Which I was worried about when ordering it, but turned out not to be an issue. The quality is just about as good as anything else. If you daily it for 5 years and drive it through salt all season and store it outside... Im sure it would wear faster than a top of the line carbon diffuser. But with how little I drive the car, it will last for as long as I need it too. And even if you do wear it out a few years from now... Its $265, might as well just order another.
