indeed; when put in that light, separated from the media hype, it really is much less big of a deal than it seems.

Okay my latest fuel figures are 165miles to last tank , held on last fill 58 litres average 14mpg , but driving it like a mentalist
Not so good on the price though £62 / $125 for a full tank of Shell V power.
When are you guys in the US going to take down the price of oil per barrell down currently $125 per barrell.

Yeah but if you were to come here and pay $4.00 a gallon (or should I say 2£)then you could drive all over the dang place. I spent a few weeks in Edinburgh for Hogmany; man was my wallet hurting.

Highway at 85-90 runs at 2500 RPM's and I've seen 18-19 MPG. I seem to average 13-14 most of the time. Good news is it seemed to imporve as I put some milage on the car.
Flying around town light to light will prob get you arond 10. Just depends on how heavy that foot is...
On highway if youe flying around the on-off ramps then merge it will hold 5th, 6th if you're in Sport mode. A simple click of the paddles will get it to shift into 7th and drop the RPMS.

Try having a country that's 10 times larger then the UK and you'll understand. You can not compare the USA to Europe gas wise. Yes, we are a bit extreme on the SUV's and all, but things are farther apart here then in the UK or anywhere else for that matter.

I just picked up my car from the dealer, drove 70 miles, and burned through over a quarter tank. i was driving agressive though. the cluster said i was getting 10.8mpg. its my first tank of gas, and maybe it will get better mileage when it breaks in, but who cares. the car is absolutely nuts. you dont buy a car like this and ***** about gas! So to sum it up, gas mileage sucks, but the car is insane, which outweighs the gas cost about 1000000%!

You have to be kidding? You are looking at a $65,000 car for a weekend crusier and because gas is a $1 a gallon more than it was last year you are not going to buy it? I hope the gas mileage is not the only thing that is keeping you from buying it. This whole gas mileage thing cracks me up. You are buying a car with 451 hp and 440 torque and everyone is worried about the gas mileage. Buy a Hybrid that gets 50 mpg and goes 0-60 in 10 seconds.

I chose the lesser of the 2 evils. A 4 cubic displacement vs 6.3, with a little better mpg, better handling and a little better fun. My in production M3 will be finish today and will take delivery at the Performance Center next mo. I guess I will alway be a Bimmer fan. thks btw to the reads of this thread. Happy to say seems like its 2 different crowd cattered to 2 different need of a special community. Happy Motoring.
