Anyone Deciding between C63 and Nissan GT-R?

The only car i would not mind paying markups, is the next gen NSX.

Shocking.
edit - In regards to the actual topic of the thread, I would probably still take the AMG, for practicality. Seeing how you're currently driving a sedan, I would think that changing to a coupe, even a large 2+2, would be quite inconvenient/bothersome.

Agreed, I'd never pay a markup on a car. Hell I got my M5 for dealer cost and that was in May of '06, not an easy time to get one. It's all about who you know, who owes you a favor, and how good of a talker you are.

I've seen the GTR w/dealer plates on the 101 out by Woodland Hills, probably doing some testing. You see all kinds of newer cars in the LA area. The last one I ran into was a nice gunmetal IS-F back in February when it was driving along side of me on my way to work (in Hollywood).

Funny you posted this....I went to the Mercedes Dealer and I think I'm putting a deposit on a new C63 next week. Call the Dealer about the new skyline and here in Raleigh, NC they are getting $12,500 over invoice for them. I just don't have it in my heart to pay that....I'm old school. The new C63 is no joke...it will do everything that the magazine and tv shows say it will. Soon to be a new Black on Black 2009 owner. Probably getting rid of the 03 S600.

Which dealer is asking for $5k over? The best I've gotten is $10k over. PM me if you don't want to post it.
I agree with you that it's not too much more than the C63. But the reasons why I'm reluctant to pull the trigger is that I refuse to pay over MSRP for any car, especially $10k--but $5k, I could probably live with. Also, has Nissan said anything about how much it will cost to maintain? I don't want to be slapped with a bill for a $1000 oil change or $3000 brake job. Last but not least, $75k+ for a Nissan? Eh, I could live with that too for the performance and looks.
I actually saw one on the 405 yesterday. Looked damn good.

I agree that this car actually looks good up close and in person -- pictures do not do it justice.......

He77 no... The Nissan is a neato video game car that turned out pretty badass.... but I can't drive a computer around everyday. Albeit, the C63 is very computerized... it's not like the GTR. Mercedes all the way...

Yeah, alot of people bashing GTR just because it's a NISSAN...well, I rather get GTR compared to my C63, but I just simply couldnt effort it yet (with the 100% marked-up) so, it's out of my league
Any way, Benz is a car that NICE to Have, but GTR is a car that NICE TO DRIVE
Just my $0.02

I saw a black one today at Qualcomm Stadium. It was very nice
The C63 appeals to me because its a 4 door sedan and it doesn't have a markup

2009 Fully loaded C63 AMG - black on black and CF trim; 2006 Lexus IS250 AWD;
GTR is a legend of a country's highest performance cars, i dun see no reasons for not being lucky enough to have one; the problem for me is how I can have dat amount of money to have them at da same time

20+ to list......
Wife gets an C63, and I'm getting a GT-R.
My Merc dealer knows the owner of one of the Nissan dealerships in Queens personally, and I'm able to pick up the car for 5K over MSRP, not too bad actually, even though I really hate mark-ups, but consider other Nissan dealerships I'd called, they all wanted 15K+ on top of MSRP, not to mention, I don't need to wait in line to get mine. Car is due in mid to late October delivery.

Gt-r ....it is a special car....
with only 2060 being built this year ......it will more then likely hold value way over a C63
between the two the GT-R is beyond anything the C63 has to offer and it is a one on one car... rather the C63 is a C class car with upgrades...there is only one GT-R .... you know what it is when you see it... with the C63 you have to explain to someone what the difference is between the C350 and C63.......and this is truly the only real Japan supercar ever built for the US ...which makes it collectible to some and desirable to many....
but on the down side with the mark ups... You can buy a nice USED E55 and a NICE USED Z06 for the price of a GT-R......
Thats about $48k on the Z and $37k on the E55......
