Supposedly the new Caddy CTS-V has achieved the 'Ring time in 7 min. 59 sec., which would mean its the fastest stock production sedan ever around the Nurburgring. Thats only 3 seconds behind a Z06 they say. Price should be about the same as an M3 sedan.

I had a CTS-V before my C55 and I will not walk down that road again even if the new one runs the ring in 5 flat. I had that car for a brief period of time in which it spent many days sitting at the dealer for the following:
Rear diff x 2
Radiator leak fixed
Radiator then replaced after it happened again replace
navigation system x 2 (the buttons will NOT retain their black color as the paint chips right off)
Homelink System- stopped working
Headrest- peeling away
The final straw for me was the TSB wheel hop bushings. They were installed to supposedly reduce the wheel hop. What they don't tell you is these things make your 50k$ car sound like an 80's beater.
Now, it wasn't all bad. The only thing that caused me to keep the car more than a month was the excitement it provided. For a 4door sedan it just ripped. I think the speed was about equal to my c55 but the 6spd just made it a lot more fun.

The new CTS is far superior to the old CTS. Besides they never thought about wheel hop on the old one and they said they have addressed if from the get go on this one. One good thing about the CTS-V is I have already had offers to order one for less than MSRP which is better than I can get from MB or BMW at this point.
