Carbon fiber trim option only with performance package?

i called my dealer to get the option for the carbon fiber trim which was not available when i was placing an order for an 09. after they accepted my change, they later got back to me saying that i can only get the carbon fiber trim if i order the performance package.

is this true?

is the performance package really worth it for about $5K more?

I believe you are correct. Its in the package and you can't pick and choose. I'm sure you can order from the parts department later this year, however.

I'm avoiding the performance package because of its more stiff ride. Stock trim is stiff enough.

I think the black wood trim is close enough to carbon fiber for me.

Not true. AMG Performance Package is completely seperate from Carbon Fiber Trim or Aluminum Trim.

this is what i figured since carbon fiber trim is listed under the interior trims category and PP is under Packages.

can anyone confirm this for me please?

sorry, i didn't know you had that kind of access. i called the 800 for mercedes and they checked on it and even called me back to let me know that it is in fact a standalone option in very limited supply. and he estimated a cost of maybe around $2500 but no pricing as of yet.

and yet my sales guy is still saying that i have to purchase the PP.

I thought it was 5k? Either way, definitely worth having the LSD and upgraded brakes for that price...

I am told that the Cf trim is a stand alone option costing between $1200 & $1500 that is only available to those that order the PP at $3900. PP Trim options will be 2 Woods and Alu at N/C, or Cf $12 to $1500

Time will tell.

No pricing available on netstar yet on all '09 C63. The earliest '09 production start date I see is 6/6.

AMG Performance Package shows:
- Delimitation of top speed to 186 mph
- Limited Slip Differential Lock

No mention of different wheels, brakes, or suspension.

Good find. Just so we don't get our US cousins nickers in a not....these are Canadian specs. Looks like CF trim is part of the PP after all, without any other choices. That settles that. One less thing to think about.

Thanks HCY

Performance Package

Perhaps, but one review I read indicated the Performance Package car was slower through the slalom because it was more easily upset going over bumps.

It is time for M-B to separate the LSD and upgraded brakes from the Suspension requirement. Just think of how many more Perf Pkg orders they would get from real world drivers. Just a thought...

What if its a slalom without bumps???? Many of the SCCA events I've tracked have no bumps. Where are they tracking the car???

i tried to get confirmation from my sales guy and he confirmed with his sales director who is also on the board of product development for mercedes-benze that the carbon fiber is not a stand alone option as the other two trims. in order to get carbon fiber on my c63 amg, i must order the performance package. any information i may have been given is incorrect.

Your sales guy is giving you more BS. On Netstar I currently see 25 cars ready for production with CF trim WITHOUT Performance Package.

This is for the US market.
