Some Steel Grey C63 pics from my delivery
Hey Guys!
After 3 years of waiting for an M3, I took delivery of a C63 today. I know I made the right choice.
I've only put 27 miles on the car driving it home from the dealer, so I don't want to post detailed impressions yet... I'll just say that my original test drive was impressive, and the car is even better now that I own it.
Here are some quick shots I took while the car was being prepped at MB of South Bay in Torrance. I had an absolutely hassle-free experience there and want to thank my CA Nancy Minatodani for taking care of me and getting me the car quickly. THANK YOU!! That's the way buying a car should be.
I will post better pics and owner impressions soon.
I need to get some clear reflectors instead of the amber!
I am allll with this car. It's everything I wanted.

Congrats. Looks great. Post your opinion about driving an automatic when you get more miles on the car. I'm about to go to an automatic in the SLK55 in August.

Thanks for all the replies guys!
So far, I love the car. It's super solid and sounds sweet. It has all the features I want... and they work. It looks like this color will be reasonably easy to keep clean. Doesn't really show the dust unless you look for it.
Some comments and answers:
Dorikin86, I think I've met you at the track a few times. Those BFG R1's belong to our 2002 S2000. I bought an '04 S2000 (from Mike at Evasive) in October and that is my track car... (yeah we have 2 S2K's as well as some other fun cars!) I just go by Hans on the board to be stealth .. .kind of like a Steel Grey car.. hoping to slip by unnoticed here
GBlansten, it is interesting driving an automatic. I feel like a "noob" with an auto, very weird. When I got back into my Evo 8, I could appreciate the control I had. I like having both. I think if I only had an automatic, I would eventually get bored. That is no knock against the C63 though, because the auto in this car is fun. One paddle pull and the tranny downshifts very quickly. Upshifts seem to take a little more time. I am able to break in the car and vary the rpm's well by using the paddles. I don't even have 200 miles yet though, so I have been putting around for the most part.
I can't wait to get it past the break-in mileage because I can tell the car is a beast. It is quick without even trying. I mean at 1/3 throttle I am passing other cars with ease... imagine what will happen with full throttle.
As far as the suspension goes... yes it is stiff, but I drive an Evo 8 everyday and my (stock) Evo is still stiffer. Where the C63 suffers I think, is in the seat itself. The cushion is firm; there's not much give... therefore any bumps are transmitted to the driver more than they would be with softer seat cushions. The sound of your clothes rubbing on the leather seats is like an audible exclamation point to the car's stiff suspension. You feel the road, and you hear yourself jiggling. My Evo's seats are a little comfier for my buns because of the softer cushions. This suspension is probably too stiff for traditional MB buyers. But for me, it's awesome. The stiff suspension allows the car to corner very flat and that inspires confidence. It is very easy to drive at a moderately quick pace (I haven't gone ***** out because it's new and I'm still acclimating to it)
I have had a minor issue. The check engine light went on at 60 miles. I went to the dealer and it turned out to be the camshaft position sensor for the right cylinder bank. It drives fine, but they had to order the part so I'm taking it back in tomorrow. A bit of a new-car buzzkill but it should be a quick fix.

Great write-up...sorry about the minor problem you experienced, I'm sure it will be resolved easyly. We all need to track all types of problems with this new car rushing out gates for the first time. I'm a high tech guy and for a sensor to go bad this early in the game doesnt speak highly, but then its just a sensor. In any case it could have been a fluke... BTW I think I heard of someone else on the forum other then you having a simlar engine light go on, most likely same sensor... Good luck!!! Great looking car...
