COMMAND SCREEN VIBRATION / RATTLE HELP!

There is a slight vibrating noise coming from the multimedia screen when it is up and functioning while going over coarse road or slight bumps. When the screen is down however, the noise goes away. HAS ANYONE HAD SIMILAR PROBLEMS WITH THEIR SCREEN? IS THERE A FIX? PLEASE GET BACK TO ME - EVEN THOUGH ITS MINIMAL ITS DRIVING ME CRAZY!

The more problems I see on the C63 the less I want one. Sorry to see you are having problems. Make the dealer fix it or put in another nav. That car should be tight as a drum, nothing less. I can buy an American POS and get rattle all day for a lot less.

I must ask what are all these problems?? A rattle on from the pop up navigation on road bumps is not a deal breaking problem to me. Its a car, it is going to have issues here and there or we would not have a warranty.

Also it appears that American POS are not the only ones to rattle...

Have you owned one? Or are you talking out of your ***? Because my two have been pretty damn reliable.

I just can't stand when people generalize cars and they have no idea what they are talking about. I like and respect all cars, I am not "loyal" to European Cars, or Japenese. I go with what I like and suits my needs.

For the record, I am not saying a rattle is acceptable. What I said was its a rattle, big deal take it to the dealer and get it fixed. Another member posted that all these problems are making him reconsider. Its a rattle, and not to mention it happens when its going over bumps and road coarse. What do you expect?? Its probably just a loose part. Its not like the engine blew, or transmissions are failing left and right.

Well all I am saying is if I can get a rattle free car from Toyota or Honda, I expect the same from MB.

I hate rattles, I have a 06 Vette and it is a rattle trap. That is one of the main reasons I am getting rid of it for a C63. It was good for the first 6 months and it has been down hill from there. I have had 3 Vettes and they are all the same. My wife has a 07 ML350 that is a year and a half old and it does not have one rattle in it. Please keep us posted to see if your dealer fixes it. I was wondering when I first seen the pop up nav how it was going to be as far as sturdiness. Anyone else out there please comment on your nav.

Sorry guys to break up your arguement but what problems have you been been having in the States with your C63's?

As far as i know we have only had C63's in the UK since April which is when i think the first / early cars where delivered.

I havent heard of any problems over here yet although that is not to say that we wont have any or indeed that there haven't been any.

I have an '04 M3 and it has had a lot of various 'rattles' over the years... but that's because the suspension is firm and I DRIVE it 'sportingly'...

I think I need to be more clear here - the rattle is not terrible - in fact, i dont think anyone would notice it except for me. However, it is there and it should be fixed. OTHER THAN THIS ONE TINY TINY TINY PROBLEM - THE CAR IS PERFECT AND TRULY A SPECIAL AUTOMOBILE. Nevertheless, I am going to bring the issue up when I take it in to get checked out at 1500 mls. The last thing I want is for my dealer to take apart my dash to find one little vibration in the nav screen - thats how bad rattles begin.

What I like!
408 miles and no rattling nav. I swear I drive on THE WORST roads in all of the LA metropolitan area, so if anyone's car is going to start rattling, it's mine.

My C63 is super solid.

OP, have you tried adjusting the tilt on the nav screen? I just read in the owner's manual today that the button on the left, below the screen, adjusts the tilt. Maybe that will help.

IMO, a little vibration noise is just not something to worry about. Unless it is a BIG rattle, like something broken/loose... then, OK, ask the dealer to look into it. Otherwise, a tech's tinkering could do more harm than good. Seriously, getting upset over some noise is going to ruin your experience with the new car. Been there, done that. Look at the big picture! The car is so well built and quiet inside that you will notice tiny noises more. You're going to be miserable if you fixate on the little things. So, choose not to do that! JMHO!

gotta agree with hans on this one. the car is very stiffly sprung, so in a way, i expected "some" rattles. luckily, i dont have any...that i notice. i did notice that a water bottle makes a serious racket in the cup-holders though.
