The computer
has no need to back off power at altitude, less dense air means lower compression. Thus up in Denver and some other places in the country 89 octane is all that is sold as premium.Vancouver B.C. sea level 91 will run just fine.
99 octane in Europe is 94 in the states,95 regular in Europe is 91 in the states so all European premium models can run on 95 in Europe
Non SC engines just lose power at altitude so if you live in mile high Denver
you are going to be down 18% on H.P. so no need for 91 or 93 or booster even if you could buy it. also warmer air is less dense air so the computer won't have much to cut back on a low pressure warm day anyplace usa.
I can see it now
people checking their portable weather station and altimeters before they fuel up and take off.Pilots know of what I speak

All 63 models are tuned for a minimum of 93 octane, so whenever possible, try to use 93 octane or slightly higher. Chevron and Shell are the top two brands, but you can always select any of the following companies:

93 octane is abudant almost in every state except California
. Most gas stations around here offer up to 91 except for very few that offer 100 octane, so I end up mixing 4 gallons of 100 with 91 to get around 93 octane.

I had the same issue when I live in the Bay Area. I found 1 type of station that had unleaded 100 [about 4 bucks/gallong a lot of years ago], and other than that it was 91. I am thinking it was Sunoco that had the hi-test stuff, but it's been a long time.

I used 94 in my Saab, and it made a big diff from 87. I usually put in 91 in my other cars. For you C63 you should put 91 or higher. dont worry so much about it. If you need gas and there is only 87 availible just put a few bucks in to get you to next gas station and put the good stuff in.
Shell, Cheveron, and Mohawk are all good gases here in Vancouver.

Once more, drive safe. Don't end up like the M5 runway kid.

Vancouver C63 owner?
I'd like to check your car out.
You should come to the German car festival on the 29th if you have time.

I only put '94 in my car.
