A big bike (not even big for that matter ) will slaughter a car all day. Even your 63. Thems the facts!

Unless that biker rider happens to pick on one of those 1000hp supra's or tt vipers, or my favorite my buddy's tt Z06. Then it is a battle of who gets traction first wins.

I haven't ever seen a tt viper run so I don't know it's traction issues. I do however know the Z06 will spin them through the quarter mile if you don't hook up early and keep them planted (on street tires, the slicks caught too hard and shattered his diffy)

In relation to bike v car both can be faster depending on conditions. If the road is twisty and or damp then the car will be faster than any bike just due to traction and grip (not to mention it takes a lot more skill and bravery for the bike driver). However on normal roads then it is often the biker that will be faster just due to it being able to get through traffic.

On a straightish road with little other traffic the bike will normally beat the car unless the speeds are very very high and the car driver is very very rich

It's best not to race bikes on the road though, as someone said it can have horrible consequences. Best to just enjoy riding either vehicle.

Regards

Andy

i own a 997TT and did runs against a R1....

results is....

50~150 km/h must be a very very strong car to beat a bike

150~200km/h EVEN

200~250km/h 997TT won by 1 car lenght
250~.... no chance for the bike...

No matter the circumstance you need an extraordinary car to best a 600cc and up sportbike...a basic liter bike no mods can do 10.37 at the quarter atleast my old 02 R1 did as for topend most bikes will eventually have to yield to a very high powered car due to drag at higher speeds but usually the bike will leave you badly behind for a while. The hardest thing to do is launch a liter bike so those low 10s aren't easily achieveable but you need a hell of a car to best a great rider on even a 600cc and up sportbike. I say don't waste your gas unless you are high hp car or in a good canyon car like a P-car. There is a youtube video with a suppose stock R1 VS a suppose stock P-car 911 in the twisties on a track where the 911 beats it in the corner/twisties but the R1 gains all back in the straights but at the end the 911 wins.

exactly, Here in Orlando i've raced a Porsche 996TT from about 80 to ALOT. and i pulled until about 140ish, then my bike hits the Aerodynamic wall.

but u usually don't run into guys that are willing to keep the pedal to the floor past 140MPH.

wish I had known all this before racing with that bike. And yes a VW Jetta did beat me only because he started off infront and I had to exsit out.

Not to worry though, I did beat a Maserati aswell as a Cobra and a 335.

Please don't tell LAPD lol

i would like to see what that car does against a literbike with a good rider on it. not saying the bike would win, but i think it would be close.

any more info on that evo though? hp? 1/4 mile times?

sweet! even with a great rider, a stock literbike would have difficulty beating that car. it would take a great rider with a modded literbike or bigger to beat that thing.

I have 2 high 9 sec bikes, neither one is putting 200hp at the wheels. A 07 ZX10r and a 07 1098s. Most 600cc bikes are mid-high 10 sec bikes with pro riders, so its best to stay clear of anything but a Harley or Goldwing.

the only person I know that thinks cars are faster than bikes is my son... he's only 5. lol. Yes, there are some cars that can run 9sec, but you won't see too many of them. Few and far between (in this area anyway).

So you're saying that if you have a high 10 second car there is a good chance you can pull on a 600cc bike on a high-speed highway roll?

if you have a high-10 second car, and you catch a 600 in the wrong gear with the wrong rider, yes, you will probably pull on him.

i have seen good riders on stock 600's hit 10.30's, so again, it all depends on the rider.

depends on the speed of the roll.

an 06 ZX-6R 1/4 - 10.583 @ 132.84 mph
60-80mph 3.68sec
80-100mph 3.6 sec
top speed 166.1mph

an 07 ZX-10R 1/4 - 9.764 @ 149.08 mph
60-80mph 2.6 sec
80-100mph 2.67
top speed 186 (limited)

an 07 Z06 1/4 - 11.7 @125 mph
30-80 mph 4.6 sec
80-100mph n/a
top speed 172 -186 limited

I would need data for a Veyron or Henessey Viper to get some good "10 sec car" numbers.
