2008 Black Out C350 Saks Edition / 87 VW GTI
Not getting my C63 for now
Not getting my C63 for now, I went to the dealer today, but I was offered 31K for my C350 Saks edition, I’m willing to lose some but not 12K so I got my deposit back and walk away.

Not considering selling it yourself? With an in-demand vehicle, they are always going to low-ball on a trade as they can easily sell the car to someone else. You'll always do much better selling it yourself. Never forget getting trade-in offer $11,000 apart on my e46 m3 when it was a year old. One dealer didn't need the sale, the other did. Usually get $5-6k more selling my other vs trading-in.

Sell it yourself, place an ad in a local auto trader, you will be surprised, just dont price yourself out of market and be realistic, good luck.

You have to understand that the dealer has no incentive to give you a good trade-in price on the saks car because they can sell the c63 easily anyway. It could well have held it's value better than a normal 350, knowing that as others have stated, you will be taking a hit either way - just way less if you sell it yourself. If you want the c63 that badly, give it a go. Otherwise hold off as they'll keep making them!

ya you will always take a big hit on a trade, The dealer cant give the next buyer the same inerest rate as you got. 1% means about $1000 over 5 yrs so every % adds up over a 5 yr finace.
In order for your car to be sale value you have to think how much interest it will cost on the loan. At the end of the day you will make more privatly but not much more.
I would shop around a bit more, if you find the trade value is the same everywere then they didnt low ball you. You also have to concider that your car has wear and tear on it, less warrenty and less road side assitants. So all this factored in, it is not far from reasonalbe.
Im not sayin its fair, that up to you to shop around and find out. But if I had to guess, first year you will loss $9000 for sure.
Sorry to hear abour your delema. Good luck!

Answer to your delimma, with very minimal cost: $5.95 for a gas can, $3.00 for regular gas, $5.00 for a zippo lighter and KABOOM!! Now you get what you wanted in the first place....approx $35000 through insurance.
