ECU Mods & other mods
So from the research I have done so far, Rennsport has an ECU 1 and ECU 2 mod. They quote the ECU1 mod at 476 hp / 465 lb-ft for $2495, and the ECU2 mod at 501 hp / 475 lb-ft $3495. MBK has an ECU upgrade that gets you up to 521hp, but costs $6,594 and has to be sent to Germany so it is a 2 day process. EvoSport has a sticky on this page about what they are developing (headers) and they also refer to a performance chip, but I haven't gotten any response to my email. VRPTuning is talking about VR570 which I assume refers to 570HP??? If so, is that 570 hp at the flywheel or wheels. I've had a few emails with Victor and Vadim, but it sounds like everything is still being tested and worked out, and hasn't even been priced yet. Any thoughts, additional info, or opinions on the above ECU and/or mods would be appreciated.
So here is my thought, my car is built 7/20, I receive it around 9/1, I have headers from whoever (probably VRP) sent to me and I go have my exhaust guy install the headers, take out the CAT's, and put in bigger diameter pipes while still keeping the 4 tips. Then I also install the new airbox and filters. If I do the above, will it still run OK or will the computer not like all the different air readings it will see or do these things need to happen WHEN I do the ECU upgrade. Also, if I am not near one of the big tuners, how do you do the ECU upgrade - do you send it to them and they send it back? If so, I thought you ideally wanted to do the ECU work on a dyno so you maximize the performance...
Sorry for the long one...

1. VR570 Power Package - stock C63s are in 470RWHP range, with this package you will be in 460-70RWHP range.
2. Leave primary cats, cut out secondary cats and leave stock pipes the same size, at 2.75'' they are good for 1000HP.
3. I have not dynoed the air box yet.

Thanks Vadim for responding. I assume you meant 560-570hp, not 460-470hp, correct?
I assume VR570 is the ECU mod and headers - let me know if it is less or more than that. Also, I'm not familiar with ECU mods, is that something you would send out as part of the VR570 mod I buy and I install, or would you send out the headers and airbox I buy and then I have to come to your place to do the ECU part???

C63///AMG: I got the same email you posted.
I have no idea what VR570 is going to go for (can anybody say what VR530 cost?), but that Renntech pricing seems crazy high to me and I'm hoping VRP's pricing is substantially lower or I may not be doing all the mods I think I'm going to be doing...
