Mine got to jacksonville a few weeks ago, but they aren't releasing them until pricing is out. I heard yesterday that they think it will be end of July.

It's been very frustrating and I can't believe MB cannot just keep the dealers informed. I have been tempted several times just to get an '08 as I'm not getting the 030 package anyway.

No way. I would estimate ~ $500. There are no differences between '08 and '09 except the p030 option, itself priced separately. Your dealer is just trying to make you feel good about taking the '08 - which you should anyway.

LOL...Didn't your mommy teach you not to listen to dealers? They don't know ****. Price will essentially be the same. Maybe a couple hundred bucks.

20+ to list......
Possibly a 1000 dollars increase in base MSRP, and options are about the same if not 100 bucks increase for each. That was what happened when my 09 SLK arrived with no MSRP and my dealer had to use 08's pricing to stimulate a ball park figure for mine.

Total . If they do that then they will lose prospective buyers to BMW M3 and Lexus IF.

At 20% discount you would be looking at $80k instead of $66k for nothing new except additional options. I would back out of my order immediately and go buy an E63.

My guess is that once the 'Summer Love' sales event ends on July 31st they will release 2009 pricing. These sales events are usually to get rid of the previous model year inventory.

Yeah, if they jack up the price 20% you might as well get a E63 or CLS 63...

Pricing will be pretty much the same in my opinion.

Oh relax guys, NO WAY will it go up by 20%, either the dealer or shadowskill is just that would be a $2000 increase on every $10,000

Just no way it is happening its just a mistake by one of these guys
Like some of you said, it will be a few hundered to a MAX $1000. But I dont even think it would go that high.

Realistically, what do you think the increase will be considering the costs of oil. Remember, the pricing is for the entire new MY.

I say 12%.

I doubt it will remain the same. The price increase from the 06 cls55 to the 07 cls 63 was approximately $5K (from base of $86 to $91K). That was without the increase of oil.

Er, yeah. OK. Car sales hurting doesn't normally lead to a 12 % across the range price increase. The CLS example is misleading too as it is a new model in a premium sector (above the c63) less sensitive to price. It was a good pricing decision on their part.

I guess we just need to wait and see versus perpetuating pointless and baseless speculation just like I am by writing this post

No please, let's continue more baseless speculation and then take action based on this total and complete lack of knowledge.

I say the price goes down by 35% and I am going to now order TWO.

The dealers you are all involved with must suck monkey bawls... I have an appointment for the 18th to pick mine up. The dealer has said the release date will be the 15th or 16th, and the price will be virtually the same. That would be insane to mark the car up 20%, even a 2-3,000.00 mark up would drive buyers towards the M3 or IS-F. If a dealer is telling you there is a 20% mark up, they are retarted and telling lies! You should never deal with them again, go buy your car elsewhere, and drive back there with your 09 window sticker, show it to them, take a dump in the middle of the show room, and leave!

A black car
My dealer sold me an 09 based on a 1% price increase. The contract says if there is more than a 2% price increase then I can back out and get my full deposit back. Obviously they're not expecting a big increase.

Dude, that is the funniest thing I've read in a while, especially after I visualized the particular response you suggested. That damn dealer deserves it.

20% increase? so the base up to $65k, and full loaded hinging on $90k?, yeah right.

If anything, a grand or 2... if its much more than that, I'll pass. Its a friggin C class.

Once it hits the dealer and they tell you its there just waiting on the 'MSRP' tell them to give it to you for the 08 MSRP or they could keep it -- that's what I would do in your shoes.....

You may be able to get the VIN now. The prices should be out about July 16,2008. The release date is scheduled for August 1, 2008. The prices need to be released before then so the buyer can arrange financing or time to have the funds available to complete the purchase.

The pricing will be released on July 15th is what I understood.... the dealers can not sell the car until MSRP is established by MBUSA and I am assuming release date and pricing are both July 15th.>>> this is what I was emailed last night.... anyone else have the same or different news?
