It's a hottie!
So driving around town this afternoon, windows down, roof open, ac off, I couldn't help notice the heat in the footwells build up pretty quickly. Then each time I pulled away from a stop sign I notices a plume of hot air enter the car, presumably given off by the engine while standing still for a few seconds, heating the stagnant air around it.
Strangely, I find this pretty cool - never had such a beast under the hood before.
Do other owners find the same?
BTW, revved it for a neighbor in our parking garage earlier - nearly shook the building down

After a long tour (1hr) or so, the heat that this car builds up is insane, try wiping down the rims after the drive, i have sweat dripping from my nose and ears. yeah at a stop light the heat in traffic is immense, dont hold an ice cream beside the car, it is going to melt and drip down your arm. Oh and the exhaust tips, dont try to clean them to make them nice and shiny when the car was just running, i tried that the first day i had the car and left a nice little piece of skin on the left exhaust, crap it hurt.

Yep, this engine generates a lot of heat!
I can't remember if you read our little "C63 v M3 corner balance and car swap" thread on M3post, but when we both popped open our hoods after a hard drive, the C63's engine bay was throwing off a lot more heat than the M3's.
I also can feel a noticable power loss when it's hot out. The throttle response seems not as crisp, and the overall thrust is definitely different.
The 63 seems to prefer cool weather. Glad I live near the beach!

Just stay in the car with the AC cranked, and when you have to leave the car, run for the hills. As far as performance goes it wasn't that bad, I was tooling around in the 115 degree heat in Palm Springs, obviously it was much better at night. Either way the car rocks!!!

Yes the car's engine generates alot of heat, certainly more than any 4 litre V8or V6 below 4 litres from any make or model.
Remember were talking about 6.3 litres or should I say 6.2 litres of big pure unadulterated mercedes V8 power. So yes it will generate heat certainly more than I've been used to in the past.
But then again, I've never owned such a large engine, you should speak to some of the guys who have, I'm sure they could tell you a thing or two about generating heat.

I raced the othe night and when I parked the car it took an easy 2 hours to cool off.
I believe it is normal for the amount of power it produces in so little time.

LOL I guess I am just a little paranoid after having so many issues with my C32. Everything finally got worked out once all the electronics were replaced but it still was a major PIA.

Well knock on wood, but so far nobody seems to be having any major issues thus far, at least not that I'm aware of. So hopefully it's a tight machine on all levels. So far so good. Time well tell.

The 6.2 liter AMG is known to produce massive amounts of heat even when not smashing the throttle. However, the engine is still not as bad as the 55K engines. Those engines are so powerful you could probably heat your home in the winter time when its snowing outside. You boys in the C63 are fortunate that you can easily mod the car to produce less heat. Start with the intake since its very restricted on your car. Plus, with a better intake and airbox your temps should drop and get you some more power.
I have a CLS55 with Kleemann K4 package and that little sucker produces so much heat that the IC can't even keep up with it and will shut the SC off.
