4 wheels
19" wheels only. 20" inch rims weigh too much and will sap power.

I'm torn on this. 20's look better, but you need a drop. It also really depends what wheels you get. Some 19's look really good, like the European stock AMG 19's. Others, like the HRE's that some guy posted here just look too small.

I'm going to wait until I see some more pictures of 19's and 20's before I decide what to get.

19 with no lip, 20 with lip

I have 19's hre on my e63 and they look small. The ride is still pretty nice due to the airmatic but dont know how it will feel with the c63 supension

I agree 19's if they are 1 piece or 20's if they are multi piece.

It sure does look better with the 20", the only thing I am afraid is the handeling issue. Can anyone tells me how the ride like with the 20" on. And for the drop, does the standard shock works well enough with the after market lowered springs??

Hmmm i understand that the 19" are more practical but ive always believed in "bigger" is better that 1 inch does make a difference

The above white c300 that I posted for you all to see is not lowered yet it look really good. I guess is up to you if want to have the car lowered. It really doen't make any height difference between 19's or 20's as the tire overall diameter is right about the same. If it was my car I will go with 20 inch wheels are they are more visually pleasing and the weigh of the wheels and tires should be around the same.

I think you should only run 20's if you also run a drop kit (springs or coilovers). If you do both, it looks better than 19's with stock suspension, but as everyone mentioned... too heavy and robs performance (more unsprung weight). This is not to mention the fact that nobody makes real C63 AMG suspension upgrades. People are just running C350 sport springs and coilovers on their C63s right now.

Until aftermarket companies start offering C63 specific suspension products, I will most likely be running 19's (w/ stock suspension). Simply put, they are lighter, usually less likely to get damaged (higher profile tires), look good with the OEM suspension, and the whole setup is cheaper.

...Pro's and con's to everything.

19 inch wheels if lighter; you are only saving a few pounds ( 1-2 lbs). Think about it, a tire in a higher profile are aways heavier thats why there is not much difference in weigh from a 19 with tires and a 20 inch with tires. A lot of people seem concerned at the fact of the weight of the wheels but they never seem concerned at the weight of the tires. Now in days runflat tires are giving us aftermarket wheel manufactures and advantage as almost all aftermarket wheels are been installed with regular non runflat tires therefore giving those extra 3-4 lbs to be under oe wheel and tire weigh. At the end of the day most oe wheels and tires weights are more or the same as an upsized aftermarket upgrade with lower profile tires and the strength benefits of a forged 3 piece wheels or 1 piece forged for that matter are much more higher that an oem cast wheel.

As far as the price difference in 19 inch or 20 inch, there is not much of a price change. Now in days 20 inch tires are more popular that 19 inch therefore costing the same or if not little more that 19 inch tires. I dont think you should base your selection base on prices with sizes. I think if you go 19 inch wheel and tire set up if any saving are there wont be much.

It is true that the lower profile tires set up (like the 20 inch) are more proned to road damage it only makes sense because the sidewall are much smaller, but is not that much of a difference when you are upgrading from a 17 inch or an 18 inch setup. I mean think about it you are still going to a lower profile if your are upgrading 1 or 2 size from oem sizes. I think you should be more carefull how you drive any tire you up the size of your oem wheels.

As far as filling in the fender is mostly myth also, because when ever you go from 19 inch to 20 inch your are lowering the profile of your tires so the overall tire diameter should alway be the same as oem and if is not it should not be more that 3% of the oem tire overall diameter so it wont mess with your factory setting ( like the speedometer or the abs system). But as far as visuals; yes the 20 inch wheel still has the overall tire diameter the same as oem but it makes it look as if it was filling in the fender more because you got more wheel looking at you, so you eyes always follows what appealing to you.

And yes if you are looking to have your vehicle lowered always go with a reputable company and make sure you get a lowering kit that was made for you specific model ( ENGINE). Engine changes with in the same car may affect the weight distribution and thats why there are lowering kit available for the different engines available with in the same model ( chassis) car.

Consider the idea of "diminishing returns". Up to a point, adverse tradeoffs emerge. In this case, it's BALANCE. I have a hard as it is not tipping forward.
