Ive gotten 7 fix it tickets - usually ends up being front window tint and no license plate in my previous car.
Just put a temporary on pay 15 bucks or watever then take it off. I will never have a front license plate its to ugly.
Im in los angeles

that swift one is ****!
Hey when you mount it up can you post some pix of what it's attached to and how it looks underneath?
I'm concerned the licence plate becomes aerodynamically ambitious and flies off and slices a brake line at anything above 50.
Nice find!

Are front license plates put on by the MB dealers or prior to reaching the dealership?
Anyone in CA, get the dealer to avoid putting the plate on...I really can't have to empty holes in my bumper.

I live in CA and the dealer wont install the plate holder but they'll let you sign a form stating that you recieved the vehicle with a plate holder. So you cant tell the cops that you cant install the plate coz you dont have the plate holder.

ah, gotcha. For me it'd be more of a no plate 99% of the time - then when pulled over on the shoulder as the man is walking up, push button... plate there voila.
Everyone happy.

I'm in CA. Don't do it unless you really want to. When i bought my porsche I asked them not to mount the plate. They told me that they don't mount the plate unless the owner wants them to. When i bought the benz, they said no problem but you had to sign a waiver. My salesman told me that it was a standard request and may at worst result in a fix-it ticket and that you could fix the mount with velcro and remove it later. So far, i haven't been ticketed. Also, never had it on my lexus either. Had her since 2000. These other people who have been pulled over all seemed to get their ticket secondary to the window tinting.
Our peace officers hate dark tint. I don't blame them. Walking up to a car with dark tint on a daily basis must be very disheartening... I have never tinted my vehicles and have never been pulled over as such... I drove my father in-laws tinted car from vegas and was pulled over 1st thing... So I got a ticket driving HIS car... All these years of fun fast driving and i get pulled over for tint... Go figure.

I for one will keep my temp plates forever
California requires that the dealer places a temp reg on the left side windshield, black paper on the rear temp on the window I'm set

if you want to mount your front license plate on the bumper but dont want to drill holes on it, use 3M double sided tape, fill the back portion of the plate that will adhere to the bumper portion. it will work, ive'd done it before on my A class which i didnt want to drill holes on to.

2009 Fully loaded C63 AMG - black on black and CF trim; 2006 Lexus IS250 AWD;
Keep it off.
My E55 never has had a front plate and it has spent all it's life in a state that requires them.
I keep the plate handy in the front of the car, but i just can't ruin the front of the car with it.
A fix it ticket will be the only thing that compells me to put it on.

no front plate! I'm in LA and I think I got 6 tickets for no plates but still refuse to put it on. If you can afford an MB you can afford to pay for these tickets. Around here fix-it ticket costs around $10. LAX is a guaranteed ticket everytime. I've gotten 3 no front tickets from LAX so avoid LAX.

MB1 - SLK
MB2 - 2007 C300
MB3 - 2008 C300 & C350
using their online sizing tool, it seems my tow-hook threads most closely match MB3. However, when you print out their online tool, the size is distorted just slightly, so it's not a pure exact match.
anyone know for sure which one fits the standard W203 (C55, C32, C320) ?
